On the morning before the Indy 500, there was the biggest event of the 500 Festival…the Parade. There were 300,000 people along the parade route…and basically it was one of the most exciting parts of my entire time as a princess. I felt like a celebrity for most of the time, and I haven’t decided yet if it was because there were celebrities in front of us and behind us and the people were confusing them with us….or if we really were celebrities to everyone. Either way, I’m fine with it….because I loved every second of it.
There were 6 princesses from Butler…so naturally we always needed to get photos together. And since we are Butler students, it didn’t just make sense for us to take a normal photo…so we did this instead while we were waiting around before the parade:
After we waited around for awhile…we went outside to line up for the parade…and we started to spot all of the celebrities who were there. We saw Anderson Cooper, Kellie Pickler, Jillian Michaels, Bridget Marquardt, and some other stars that I didn’t really recognize (sorry guys). But really, the best part was just being a part of the parade, and realizing how many people from around the country and around the world come to Indiana, our home state, for this amazing weekend. We always think of Indiana as the land of the farms and nothingness, but the weekend of the 500 is the perfect example of what Indiana is truly made of.
It was the perfect morning for a parade, and if I could do that all day every day, that would be the perfect job for me. There are still more 500 events that I haven’t blogged about…so check back soon for more about the life of a 500 Princess!
