Earlier this summer, after I started my internship at Vera Bradley, I mentioned that I had been trying out drinking coffee for the first time…ever. When it was right in front of me, free, and I was tired during long days at work, I would try it out from time to time, but always with plenty of creamer. Now I am interning at Slingshot SEO, and I am once again dabbling in this drinking coffee business. With 20+ hours a week at my internship, working on campus, 12 hours of class, and driving in between everything, I get worn down pretty quickly, and the coffee that is in the break room right next to my desk is pretty tempting.
So why am I bothering to write about this whole issue? Here is the deal: For the first time…I kind of like the coffee. Yes, I said it….I like the coffee. Even though it has lots of sugar and creamer in it, I don’t cringe each time I take a drink anymore, which is most definitely progress! And, for the last few years I have been a “tea and cream-based drink only” Starbucks customer. I know every single combo of tea and syrup, and I have tried everything else that is non-coffee based. That has limited my choices a tad bit…and now I am ready to get crazy…with my Starbucks orders. The only problem is…I don’t know how to order coffee at Starbucks. No longer can I simply rattle off, “I’ll have a venti iced black tea with raspberry” (that is my go-to drink). Now, I have to learn their menu for the first time…ever. And I don’t even know what half of those words mean!! So, please comment with words of wisdom, guidance, or drink suggestions…because I truly need all the help I can get.
Just imagine the possibilities with me for a moment.....mmm...

I know what you mean, When I decided to quit drinking coffee it was primarily because I no longer wanted to consume caffeine. I decided against simply switching to decaf because even decaf brands still have small percentages of caffeine. The good thing for me was that I didn’t drink just for the pick-me-up. I enjoyed the taste and waking up with a warm beverage every morning. However, for power drinkers it is much harder to give up because they are addicted to the caffeine.

I’ve been trying tea lately, but yucck. I found one that’s kinda cool though, has some body and feels like you’re drinking something, it’s called “Throat Coat”. Sounds disgusting, but it’s not!

Good choice of coffee! But when you get up in the morning with a appealing smell of fresh home made bread in the house… and this with a good coffee… it is like “heaven” enjoy
A lot of coffee – is not very smart choice,- you will realize it later, 10-15 years ahead, but protect yourself by consuming as much as possible freshly made juices.
I swear Starbucks is my weakness..lol. I can relate to everything in your post. It took me a while to get the hang of ordering too, but try a skinny white chocolate mocha to start

Nothing wrong with Starbucks! I love their coffee but it’s kind of expensive. So I normally drink my own brew (which is very good) and go to Starbucks like once a week now.

Since I don’t like coffee…another alternative is Diet Mt. Dew. Just be ready to have your eyes almost pop out of your head:)
