So this week I am going to revisit the topic of recruitment….but this time around it all works for guys and girls, and it isn’t specific to sororities or fraternities at all. But….it is Butler-specific.
The other day I was walking through the top floor of Atherton, the home of a lot of different offices, and the Greek Life office specifically. Outside the office is a bulletin board with the following five statistics about Butler Greek Life:
- 1060 – affiliated students
- 84 – % of Greek students maintaining at least a 3.0 cum GPA
- 98 – % of Greek students retained at Butler from Freshman to Sophomore year
- 25 – thousand service hours by Greek students in the year 2009-2010
- 142 – thousand dollars raised by Greek students in the year 2009-2010
Aren’t those legit statistics??? Personally, reading those make me super proud to belong to a sorority at Butler, where I can be a part of this awesome community. But what you might be thinking is that those statistics are great, but what Greek Life can actually do for you is what matters. And truthfully, Greek Life is exactly what you make of it, as is the recruitment process. By making the most of the sisterhood/brotherhood, you can be blessed beyond belief with people and relationships that you might have never met or had. For instance, I met my best friends at school all within the past year, through being in my house, and I can’t imagine my life without them now! And the important thing is that you can’t make that into a number or a statistic, because it is something so much more real and tangible than that.
If you have any questions at all about recruitment or Butler’s Greek Life, please don’t hesitate to ask!
