If you have been reading my blogs lately, you might realize that this past weekend was pretty eventful. This will PROBABLY be the last blog about my weekend…but don’t hold me to it.
So on Friday night, I was just hanging out with my friend Alison, eating some trail mix. I didn’t think that this was bad….until I took a bite and part of my permanent retainer popped out. So, naturally, I freaked out, and started Google-ing “My permanent retainer came out, what do I do?” and “Emergency Orthodontist”. After about 15 minutes of that, we decided that it would be easiest to wait till the morning (since it was around 12:30 a.m.), and then just call my parents and my orthodontist at home to get it all figured out. The next day, we spoke with my orthodontist’s office, and they told me how to fix it for the time being…until I came home for Fall Break. Which brings us to now….
First off, in the past 6 years (how long it has been since I got my braces off) my orthodontist has moved to a new office. Basically, it is legit. It makes me want to work there, just so I can be around that much gorgeousness. But with all of that cool new stuff comes new computers that allow them to have all of the before/after pictures & x-rays of their patients at each chair. Yeah it is a great idea, but in my case….it was so depressing. You see, I got my braces on when I was in the 5th grade….which was a tough time for all of us….and so I had to look at all kinds of pictures of me…in the 5th grade. It made me wonder what I was ever thinking in some ways, and in others…it depressed me because it made me feel really old. Like REALLY old. Like 10 years older than 5th grade me old. Yeah….it has been a really long time. Now, I don’t have any photos of me in 5th grade on my computer, but check out the small child Stephanie….

This was after my very first sleepover...in first grade. I'm the one in the front in the middle...don't we look cool??
