Dead week at Butler is never dead week. It usually means a time for projects and any other random thing the professor would love to give you. This week it seems like everyday I had something due. It gets kind of difficult to keep up.
This past Tuesday I had something due in every class or needed to do something to prepare for every class. Not to sound ridiculous but literally every class I wanted to skip, but couldn’t because there was something holding me back each and every time.
PCA 241: Had to go to class because we had to practice our performance that we had to give on Thursday.
SW 266: Presenting my group’s public service announcement to the class.
COM 101: Had homework to turn in
SP 101: In class writing assignment to due
That may not seem bad but when this week at other schools is called dead week, here at Butler it may as well be called pre finals week where they give us more work than they have ever before during the semester in one week. The only positive to this week was that the class I have Monday, Wednesday, and Friday got canceled Wednesday and today, which means last night was my last class for the semester and now it’s on to FINALS!
I’m not extremely worried about finals and I should be all done by Tuesday. Good luck to everyone is struggling. We are almost done!
Here’s a video as Butler basketball continues to make me proud to be dawg.
As an exploratory major I honestly have no idea what I want to do. People always say, “you must have some idea” but I really don’t. Being undecided was a huge reason as to why I chose Butler. This may confuse some people. Let me explain.
The exploratory program is really great at Butler, yes it is a program, being exploratory is better than being undecided at other schools because your advisers and faculty really help you try to figure out what you want to do. I am currently in the exploratory class, which is LC 103. This class allows you to take skills test and personality assessments to see what your strengths are. It also allows you to job shadow in areas where you would be interested. On top of that speakers from the different colleges at Butler come to speak to you about their college and what majors are involved.
On all my tests I always test high in leadership and communication. This is not that shocking to me but some skills can be shocking! The other day I scored sort of high in creativity. I really do not think I am creative at all.
So if anyone has any idea what I should do with my life please inform me. Until then I will be exploring my options here at Butler, until hopefully end of sophomore year when I really want to be able to decide.
Since this week I have no homework, I have been finding a lot of extra time to find really dumb YouTube videos. Basically without homework I do not know what to do with myself…
