Yesterday, I went home to go help my mom move some furniture out of our house. We are getting new carpet and new hardwood floors. Actually, the first time I went home was labor day and my room was already cleared out… Thanks Mom. Anyway, before I went home yesterday I stopped by brother’s house to see my niece and nephew! My brother and his wife live on the outskirts of Broad Ripple, which is pretty close to campus! I was so glad to see my nephew, Sam, and my niece, Olivia. They are quite the handful but they are so goofy!
After I saw Sam and Olivia, I went home to help my mom move furniture but more importantly to eat some awesome Japanese food. My mom is Japanese and so being on campus I definitely miss the food she makes. Last night, we had gyoza (potstickers), miso soup, and rice. I was so happy, but I definitely ate way too much!
Not only was I excited about food, but also about the package my mom got from Japan! My aunt sent over my mom’s kimono from when she had her 20th celebration. This kimono is what my sister will be wearing to take pictures in before her wedding! My sister is getting married on October 8th, so I am really excited! I will show you guys the obi, which is what is used to keep the kimono together. It is so pretty! I’ll show you everything together once my sister gets married!
Even though I went home, I was so excited to come back to the dorms. My mom told me I would miss her cooking and I totally agree. Now I am back to crazy homework, campus food, and dorm life!
Before I go here’s a video that I thought was so cool that I saw the other day on my friend’s facebook, plus I love the song in it! Hope you like it!
