I totally meant to do a Music Monday but now as I look at the time I realize that my Music Monday this week is turning more into a Concert Tour Tuesday. I know last blog I mentioned that for the next couple weeks I would dedicate a day to talk about a concert that I went to over the summer or recently, so here is my first one!
Last Monday my roommate, Sarah, and I were able to go see The Neighbourhood and Imagine Dragons! You probably know who Imagine Dragons are, but maybe not The Neighbourhood. The Neighbourhood is a band from California. Recently they just got some success with their song Sweater Weather! I posted a video from the concert, but you should definitely check out some of their other songs. The main reason why I went to this concert was to see The Neighbourhood, but that changed once the concert got started.
After The Neighbourhood started I was kind of over it. I like Imagine Dragons, but they get so overplayed with songs like Radioactive and It’s Time, so I thought this is going to be ridiculous. Boy did Imagine Dragons prove me wrong! They were so good live. The thing that made me even more excited to see them was the fact that they just seemed so happy to be doing what they were doing. It just seemed like they are at the point in their careers where they have realized they have made it and they feel so awesome about it.
As usual I took plenty of videos and plenty of pictures. The two videos above are one I took (If you hear people singing I was by some crazy people… and me :)) . In the end if you can definitely see both The Neighbourhood and Imagine Dragons. The Neighbourhood in my personal opinion need to work a little on their live performances. Imagine Dragons is just a great show. If you really know their songs it’s awesome, and they are all so talented and switched instruments at times, it was great!
One more awesome thing about this concert is how close the venue was to campus! This concert was at White River State Park which is somewhere around 10 minutes away depending on traffic! My other concerts are a little further away so I was excited to be so close to campus especially since this concert was on a weekday! Sorry for my mishap of Music Monday, hopefully next Monday will be a true Music Monday!

I have definitely been slacking with the blogs lately, but with everyone leaving and packing up it has been kind of crazy to get everything that I need to get accomplished done! So I thought I would throw out a few songs that I have been listening to while I pack.
#1. The Paper Kites – Bloom
This song is a little mellow, but I can’t stop listening to it. It kind of goes with the mood of moving out of the house. The mixture of the two voices of the girl and guy are really sweet.
#2. Logic – All I Do
If you know me then you knew there would have to be some rap on this list. I really like this song because of the beat behind it. It’s a pretty simple beat, but the piano background is what gets me. It’s not like the typical rap I listen to that is intense, this is way more laid back, which is a change of pace for me.
#3. Venice – The Lighthouse and the Whalers
So lately I have been listening to a lot of indie bands and this is one of them. I think you can start to see a pattern in the type of indie bands I like, but I really just like the way they sing. I like voices that don’t sound so mainstream and this guys voice definitely doesn’t sound like the norm that’s out there.
This music Monday may not have been eventful, but it’s difficult when I’m still trying to pack my life away, so hopefully tomorrow I can give a full blog about what’s going on! There are a lot of new things that I can’t wait to share. Until then happy packing everyone!
Clearly the title of my blog is an exaggeration. I hate being sick. Currently I have a lot of issues going on! If you don’t want detailed information on my sickness you may want to stop reading…
My roommate thinks I have pink eye because the same thing that happened to her is happening to me. One of my eyes is completely red and I woke up with it basically shut from eye crust. My tonsils are currently so swollen that the thing that is in the back of your mouth that hangs there is touching my tonsils, so that’s fun. Since my tonsils are so swollen it’s making it extremely difficult to even swallow. No worries though I’m still talking, so don’t think you have gotten rid of me yet!
I do feel really bad for the cold dorm right now, because since my nose is stuffed and I can’t really swallow unless I really think about I’m snoring extremely loud, but I can’t help it! Hopefully I can go to the doctors ASAP, because this is probably the worse feeling. On top of being sick I have my first Spanish test on Wednesday, so this should be fun studying for.
Anyway enough of my complaining, keep your head up everyone. It is only Monday after all.
