Pinch Me I’m Dreaming

This weekend was insane, and made me just that more happier that I am at Butler. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, my sorority had initiation ceremonies! Our main ceremony was on Saturday where we initiated 55 new girls, our largest pledge class ever in Indiana Gamma chapter! It was so exciting that I could finally call my littles my sisters! I was even more excited to give them more gifts!

While this is not exciting I guess it is newsworthy, my roommate and I started our cleanse yesterday! How the cleanse works is three days of drinking natural juices. We chose V8 vegetable juice and V8 fusion since there is no artificial flavoring or high fructose corn syrup. Then two days of fruits and veggies. Then one day of anything but meat, and then I can finally go back to normal. Last night was a definite struggle to stay on this cleanse. Let me explain.

Last night with College Mentors for Kids I was able to go to the Bulls vs Pacers game. We were so blessed to be able to sit in the Indianapolis Power and Light suite! Unfortunately for me that meant having to sit in front of a nacho bar and desserts galore, but I didn’t cheat so I was proud of myself! Being able to watch the game from amazing seats I think helped distract me enough from the food.

I was able to go on the court at halftime, which was amazing. Indianapolis Power and Light as well as the Pacers Foundation donated $10,000 to College Mentors for Kids! Myself and four other College Mentors for Kids staff members were able to help accept the check at halftime! It was awesome! We were also able to see the Bulls team come into the tunnel while we were exiting the tunnel! It was awesome!

I’m so grateful for all the experiences I’ve had at Butler, and to think it’s only my sophomore year!
