I think my computer deserves a good farewell/background story. I got my laptop when I was a junior in high school. While I was extremely appreciative of my dad surprising me with a laptop I wish I had a little more say in what I received. The reason I say that is because my computer was 17 inches. My friend Lynn and I would call our computers the tanks because we both had large and in charge computers that would die in under 30 minutes.
For being a tank I felt that my computer lasted a pretty long time. Especially considering the fact that in college you use your laptop for basically everything. Academics, entertainment, and as a distraction, so literally everything. My laptop is particularly important to me, because it is something I have to have for my job. Working in social media means I need to have my laptop all the time, so of course when I found out my computer was donezo, I was a little sad. On top of that I miss Netflix…
Thankfully Butler IT is helping me get some of the documents off of my old computer, which by the way everyone should use Butler IT. I’ve never had to use it before, but it’s a resource that I’m glad I know about now! To say everything worked out in the end is an understatement. A girl in my office is selling me her laptop so I’m glad I don’t have to go searching nine days before I leave.
It was a good run while it lasted tank, but I hope you rest in peace in laptop heaven. And if you are having a bad day just check out this video of corgis.
