Under the Knife

I’m an odd child. I love going to the dentist, even when I know that my teeth are hurting and they may have to do more than a cleaning. I love walking out of the dentist and having that clean teeth feeling, but yesterday the news I heard was something that I didn’t want to hear right now.

I went to the dentist not only to get a cleaning, but also because my back teeth are hurting. I kind of had a feeling it could be my wisdom teeth since almost all my friends at home are getting theirs pulled, but I didn’t want it to be. I was hoping it was just a bad cavity. Unfortunately it is my wisdom teeth. My two bottom teeth are coming in and pushing in on all my teeth. It hurts pretty bad, and so now I have to go see the surgeon in order to see when I can get them pulled.

Not only that my dentist thinks I need to go to the doctor because I keep getting sick and my tonsils are extremely swollen, so now I might even have to get my tonsils pulled. So much for summer plans I may just keep getting surgery! I’m not sure about my tonsils yet so for now all I am for sure about is my teeth! So in a couple weeks I will be looking like a chipmunk.

On a more positive note, the Forever 21 I work at is opening earlier than expected. We open on May 25th and now we need to hire at least 90 more people, which is insane! Next week I get to work in the new store setting things up. I’m so excited!

Summer Plans

If anyone knows me by reading my blogs we all know I love to do lists! So here is my top five list for this summer! It’s crazy to think I have already been home for almost two weeks, and yet I already have so much I need to do!

1. Work
Yes I am back at work. I started yesterday. Call me weird, but I actually like working. Especially when I first go back to work because all the clothes are new to me, which is bad because I want to buy them, but good at the same time because I love seeing all the new clothes come out. Also the Forever 21 I work out is moving into a HUGE store on May 28th, so I am really excited for that. I’m sure after that I will be working A LOT.

2. Indy 500 Madness
I’ve lived in Indy my whole life, so 19 years, and I have yet to go to the Indy 500 so this year it is my goal to make it to the 500. I don’t care if the traffic is crazy or what happens I just want to be there. Plus I really just want an excuse to wear an American flag vest, because we all know how great the Indy 500 fashion is. Here’s what I hope my vest looks like!

Part of my Indy 500 outfit hopefully.

3. King’s Island trip
Every summer, me and my friends make a trip to King’s Island. It’s only 2 hours away from Indy so I always make an effort to go! Going during the week is the best because no one is there and you can ride the rides so many times! I really like diamondback even if it freaks me out.

Hands up all the time!

4. Visiting friends
I told so many people at Butler I would visit them, and now I don’t know if I’ll have time! I’m suppose to go to Iowa to visit my friend Katie and the farm she lives on. Just kidding! She doesn’t live on a farm, my friend Catrina, and I just assume. I’m also suppose to visit all my friends in Chicago, but my summer is filling up so fast!

5. Concerts
I have so many concerts I want to go to it’s unbelievable! Here in Indy you can buy a mega ticket, which gives you 6 tickets to country concerts, but I didn’t get that this year so now I’m scrambling to get all the tickets I want. Hands down though it is a must that I see Dave Matthews Band, I’ve seen pretty much every summer and I love them in concert!

Hopefully I make it back to Butler with some form of money, until then I’ll be trying to fulfill these top 5 things, and hopefully make money while having some fun!

If You’re Not A Bulldog, You Just Don’t Understand.

Before I came home from Butler a lot of other schools were let out earlier than we were. Seeing their statuses on Facebook of them saying how they were excited to go home made me wonder, are Butler students crazy?

When Butler students were let out all I saw on statuses was how much we were going to miss Butler, and how we were all sad to leave. We weren’t excited to go home. Talking to people that go to Butler there’s just something about it. We are all a little obsessed with being a bulldog, but I’m not ashamed of this. I’m fully aware my friends are annoyed of how much I love my school. Whether I’m talking about the numerous advantages I have or the fact that our mascot is probably way cuter than theirs I understand why my friends make fun of me for constantly saying Butler this and Butler that. I never imagined I would find a place, especially college that would act as a security blanket for me.

I’m so happy and proud to call Butler my home for three more years, and I can’t wait for the next freshmen class to be able to experience all of the craziness I experienced this year. As the seniors graduated today it makes me fear the day when I will have to leave Butler as the student and come back as an alum, but I still have three years so enough of this moping! Congratulations to all the seniors and especially our bloggers Olivia and Steph!

Summer Time

It’s officially summer for Butler students, and although I’m back home I’ve already managed to go back to Butler four times since I have left. I live only 20 minutes away from Butler so for me going home isn’t that big of a deal.

A lot of my friends that are home are glad they are back, but I’m more sad than anything. I love being home and seeing my friends who I haven’t been able to see, but I still miss my Butler people. It’s only been a couple of days and I am already having withdrawls. The only plus is that some of the people I know are still on campus and living there over the summer so i’m sure i’ll see them!

I still have yet to unpcack all my things from moving back home. It’s unreal but ever since working at Forever 21 I have enough clothes to last me forever, so I didn’t do/didn’t need to do laundry at all this past semester. That may give you an idea of how much laundry I had to do when I came home. My mom wasn’t too thrilled of how the house became a mess when I came back home, but it will all be gone within a couple months. Until then, I’m trying to clean up my mess.

My lovely mess.

Let’s Be Honest

In reality my finals week is not that bad compared to others. A lot of pharmacy majors especially have finals one right after the other so that is way worse than mine! My problem is just I have a lot of busy work and no idea how to manage my time right now.

I only have two finals, but the rest of the things that I have due are time consuming! My first final is tomorrow in my world of plants class. I love the professor of this class, but this is possibly one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. I have never studied harder and still end up with terrible grades. Basically my goal on this final is to at least get a C, which sounds terrible, but at this point I am dying in this class.

On Thursday I have my portfolio due for Arts Administration. In this portfolio I have to compare my choice of an arts organization with another. So my choice was the Metropolitan of Art in New York City and now I have to compare it with the Indianapolis Museum of Art. It’s not very difficult at all because most of the information is online it’s just very time consuming, and I have to make it into a presentable binder.

Friday I have my Analytical Reasoning final, which is Butler’s way of calling a math class. My math class is Win, Lose, or Draw, which goes into statistics and probability. It sounds really easy, but it’s actually one of my hardest classes. I have a tutor for this so hopefully that helps!

Saturday I have my controversial story for my News Print Media class to turn in. I have yet to do any interviews for this or anything which is really bad, and on top of that I have to also rewrite a story for this class, because I failed my first time, so now this is just additional work. I expected this though because I had no idea how to write that story, so hopefully the rewrite goes well.

Currently I am sitting in the Science Library. Pretty much all of campus is dead with people only walking to go hide themselves in rooms in Jordan Hall, Irwin Library, or any other place where they can find a nook to study. I am also still soaked from the torrential downpour that mother nature decided to have. Broad Ripple flooded which is insane. On top of that my friend’s car is stuck there. I’ll keep you guys updated on whether she gets it back or not!

That's my friend's car. This was on tv!
