Unfortunately, not everyone receives the admission decision they were hoping for when they started this process. If Butler is the school you want to attend, this initial admission decision isn’t the your last opportunity to apply. If you were not offered admission as a freshman and would like to transfer to Butler after attending another college or university, we recommend that you spend at least one year with that institution before submitting a new application for admission. By the numbers, some programs at Butler have a slightly lower freshman acceptance rate because of the limited number of spots available for incoming students, specifically pre-pharmacy and pre-physician assistant.
- For pre-pharmacy, it is still recommended that transfer applicants complete at least one year of coursework at another institution before applying again to the program. Students can apply to the pre-pharmacy phase of the program as a transfer student if their college GPA is 3.0 or higher. Additionally, if a student has successfully completed all required pre-requisite courses and also has taken the PCAT, he/she can then apply directly to the 4-year professional phase of the pharmacy program.
- To apply for the 3-year professional phase of the physician assistant program, a student must have completed or will complete a Bachelor’s degree prior to the fall semester he/she intends to enroll. This Bachelor’s degree must include the successful completion all of the required physician assistant pre-requisite courses.
