I had one specific request, and it was to go on the USS Intrepid. I mean when a WWII-era aircraft carrier is docked in the city you’re visiting, you go and see it.
I was elected captain, first of all.
Okay not really, but that was the door leading up to the bridge. SO COOL, RIGHT?

We learned all about how jets actually land on a strip that’s not even the length of the ship. See, the jet has a little hook on it that needs to catch on a really strong cord, which is attached to a hydraulic system that braces the force of a freakin’ jet colliding with the deck.
Coolest museum ever.
