About Me:

Hey everyone, I am Cathryn. I am going into my 5th year of pharmacy at Butler University. I am also working toward a minor in Science, Technology & Society! In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and writing. I've been working on NaNoWriMo and am hoping to be published at some point in the near future as well. Most of the time you can catch me studying in the library or browsing the Internet. Oh, and did I mention that I got married last summer?

Therapeutics presentations

It’s that time of the semester again. TIME FOR PRESENTATIONS.

Everyone’s all freaking out because we have to present a case, and last semester we went over a similar case in class before we had to present. This time, they’re just throwing us to the wolves. I’m fine with it because no matter what I do, I’ll probably forget something essential and lose the game even if my recommendation is right. I did that last semester.

Just so you all know, metformin can cause lactic acidosis. I not only forgot about it during the presentation, but it didn’t even make it onto my reference paper. how. I don’t even.

I’ve already painfully assessed everything I could for this presentation. Tomorrow will be finishing touches. And then the rest of the weekend is studying for clusters! I can’t believe we’re already embarking on the last 4 weeks of school!!

So here’s Gob Bluth (Will Arnett) riding a segway in a construction zone as a metaphor for me and the rest of the semester.

Spring break countdooown!

It’s almost midnight, so I’m not counting Tuesday as a day anymore. 3 more days until spring break!!

Our clusters are scheduled Wednesday-Friday, which isn’t great at the moment, but it’s so, so much better than having them after spring break. Nothing boggles fun plans more than having a bunch of tests to study for!

I have a presentation in my STS class too. We’re going to look at the benefits of stay at home dads and the socially constructed obstacles to their success. Gender roles are a go!

Things are busy, but I think it’s manageable. I’m just really tired because I’ve been, sadly, lacking sleep. :( But that’s what break is for–recovery! I’m not going anywhere except maybe a quick trip to Cincinnati. It’ll be nice to relaaax. I need to finish The Hunger Games, anyway!
