About Me:

Hey everyone, I am Cathryn. I am going into my 5th year of pharmacy at Butler University. I am also working toward a minor in Science, Technology & Society! In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and writing. I've been working on NaNoWriMo and am hoping to be published at some point in the near future as well. Most of the time you can catch me studying in the library or browsing the Internet. Oh, and did I mention that I got married last summer?

The epitome of being a commuter

It’s not just the early mornings, traffic, and radio morning shows. It’s more than the fact that the Clowe’s parking lot is closed to commuters now, forcing us to park in the Hinkle parking lot (adding an extra two minutes to the already astounding journey!). And it could be all about using public restrooms all day, but I’ve found something even more profound.

It’s lunch.

C Club already smells kind of funky. Fried food, soup, toasted sandwiches with everything on them, all with a hint of Lysol (much appreciated). But it smells even weirder as the girl with the 400-pound backpack pulls a Healthy Choice lean bean burrito out of the ancient microwave in the corner.

I’m that girl. Only it’s not a Healthy Choice today, it’s weird-looking leftover tortellini from this weekend. The lucky ones with meal plans eat lunches that look like this:

Man, that sandwich looks good.

My lunch looks like this:

How'd it get burned? How'd it get burned?!

Ten points to Gryffindor for whoever knows the reference in that caption.

My leftover pasta looks better than that, but I’m sure to onlookers it looks like I’m eating the guts of a honey badger. Luckily for me, honey badger guts taste delicious.

I’d say the biggest thing about leftovers for lunch is placing dirty tupperware back in my lunch box. I guess I could rinse it in the nearest water fountain (in the Reilly Room? no), but I’d much prefer hiding my shame as quickly as possible.

I should go with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich tomorrow.
