Today was my last day of classes. Of this semester. Of my academic career.
buuuut I have 3 finals and 2 papers left.
THEN I’M OFF TO ROTATIONS. GAME FACE.
It’s been unreal. My last two classes ever. And what were they? Strangely, a drug abuse lecture in therapeutics, and my substance abuse elective. Side by side. I’m finishing off my academic career with a theme.
We celebrated with India Garden in Broad Ripple and trying to get ahead on some kinetics homework. There is nothing more satisfying than a good Indian buffet and finishing final assignments early. Now it’s just… the big stuff. Like our 4 semester cumulative therapeutics final on Monday. But after all we’ve been through? Seems easy enough!
I’m studying for finals and writing a paper and we can just leave it at that. But before clusters, I got a chance to visit my friend’s family farm on the south side and we had a wonderful time!
We let the guys build a bonfire. … It was huge.
Group photo with a timed camera and a flash in PITCH BLACK DARKNESS! Turned out pretty well though.
And if fire and friendship wasn’t enough for you… THE PARKS AND REC CAST WAS IN INDIANAPOLIS THIS WEEK.
Butler tried tweeting them from all of our coolest accounts (I TRIED TOO AND I’M THE COOLEST) but they only had a few hours in town to get the scene done. I would have died to be in the presence of Adam Scott. THAT HAIR.
I’m definitely hoping to wind down after next Thursday (my last final!) and partake in some Indianapolis fun times. I hear talk of a visit to Howl at the Moon and I’m also hoping to visit my favorite spot in Broad Ripple sometime before the holidays. But I’m not telling you where it is! Because it’s a secret. If I go there I’ll spill the beans and post pictures. Only ‘cuz I like yooou.
Butler is about 5 minutes away from Broad Ripple (10 if there’s traffic or you drive slow or it’s February and there are 87 pot holes along the way). When I lived on campus, we only went there a couple of times to park and walk around. Mostly we just went to Qdoba. Because it is delicious.
Now that I live 30 minutes away from Broad Ripple, I’ve been there even more frequently! A couple of weeks ago, we dined at Shalimar’s lunch buffet, and last week we tried one of the new restaurants on the main strip: Thr3e Wise Men. It was delicious! Until I realized their “stuffed breadsticks” were stuffed with pepperonis… and not cheese or something. That was a little weird. But anyway.
Next stop was Big Hat Books and a little walk on the Monon Trail!
My phone takes surprisingly giant pictures.
Checking out Broad Ripple was a great way to kick off autumn. Fall. Whatever.
