Yesterday, Sunday, was the last Day of Reckoning before finals week began. Having driven down to campus to empty out my pharmacy mailbox which contained numerous old tests, we were passing the Super Target when I had the insatiable craving for a can of Coca Cola.
I make a lot of excuses for finals week. I’ve been trying to get fit all semester, and I’ve been fairly good. No pastries from Starbucks and all of that. But I can’t stress enough the importance of giving into cravings when you’re stressed. I’m a scientist.
So, we’re in Target, and we get the Coke. But as we all know, the soda aisle is flanked by snack foods. Doritos are on sale. COOL RANCH OR REGULAR? That is always the question. I beg for both but my husband is the voice of reason and tells me to choose. FINE. Regular Doritos it is.
We make our way to the checkout lanes and, as if they KNOW, Target has placed several more temptations right by checkout. Cheez-Its and white fudge covered oreos.

It looks like I took this picture, but I'll admit, it's from a Google search.
I can’t begin to describe to you the majesty that is white fudge covered oreos. It’s like someone took an already delicious junk food and poured fairy sparkles all over it.
It’s probably not very healthy to aid my studying and paper writing with junk food. But this is the sort of week where, in the words of Tom Haverford and Donna, you gotta TREAT YO SELF.
