That’s right. The time for the best season of all has begun–the Starbucks holiday themed drink season.
On Sept. 6th, the coffee megacompany released, arguably, its best cast of drinks all year. The Pumpkin Spice Latte, the Salted Caramel Mocha, and masquerading as a fall favorite but let’s face it we mostly drink it in winter and really any time we want, the Chai Tea Latte.
Pictured above is Curtis and me with the first Pumpkin Spice Lattes of the season. There is nothing like the scalding hot, orange speckled liquid on a cold fall day. Granted, here in Indy, it’s been kind of hot for the past couple of weeks, so I have to go sit in C Club where it’s about 65 degrees Fahrenheit to enjoy it.
For about five years running, the Pumpkin Spice has brightened my gloomy fall days like a tub of ice cream after watching a movie like The Notebook. (For the sake of my reputation, I’ve never seen The Notebook, but have heard numerous reports that everyone cries having watched it, and I found it to be a superb reference for my simile.)
However, last week, I partook in the Salted Caramel Mocha. It has become my new best friend, but I still call Pumpkin Spice on the weekends when I don’t have any plans and Salted Caramel is busy. Seriously, the drink is fabulous. Almost a little too sweet. It’s like candy! So I don’t recommend getting whipped cream on it, that would just send it over the edge.
I get way too intense about Starbucks sometimes.

Yes, those two drinks are by far the best Starbucks beverages by far!
