Happy Monday to all! I apologize for forgetting about Music Monday last week. To make up for it, this week’s Music Monday is pretty rockin’. Let’s talk about Eric Hutchinson.
Eric Hutchinson is an American singer-songwriter with some pretty upbeat tunes. He got his start back in 2007 when celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton wrote about his self released album, Sounds Like This. Since then, Hutchinson has released a total of four albums and performed on many late night talk shows.
All of Hutchinson’s song are lighthearted and upbeat, and have a fun vibe to them. He reminds me a bit of an energized Jason Mraz, and his sound falls into the category of the Jason Mraz/Matt Nathanson/Matt Wertz type. Also, judging from the live recordings I’ve heard of him, he’s pretty hilarious; exhibited here. Give some of his songs a little listen.
Have a great week and thanks for reading

Happy Music Monday, all! As you may or may not know, this week is Peace Week. When I think of peace, I think of calm. Since it is Music Monday, let’s talk about calm music. Let’s talk about Passenger.
Passenger (his real name is Mike Rosenberg) is a one man Indie-pop/folk band from Brighton, England. Passenger originally consisted of Rosenberg and four band mates, but they broke up in 2007 after only recording one album. After the breakup, Rosenberg decided to keep the name “Passenger” and pursue a solo career.
Passenger released his first solo album, Wide Eyes Blind Love, in 2009, and has since released Flight of the Crow, and All the Little Lights. Passenger has an incredibly unique voice, and all of his music is pretty mellow. His lyrics are also really good! His most popular song is “Let Her Go,” and he has also recorded a mash-up of “No Diggity” and “Thrift Shop” with Ed Sheeran. It is rockin’. My favorite song of his is “I Hate” because it is about all of the dumb things that people do. Not very peaceful, but it is very clever.
Have a wonderfully peaceful week, and thanks for reading

Happy Music Monday, all! I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter weekend and is ready to finish the semester strong! Only four weeks left. Yikes.
Today, I would like to talk about Ceour de pirate. Coeur de pirate (her real name is Béatrice Martin) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She sings almost all of her songs in French, but she does have a few English songs. She released a song in English called “One for Me” under the name Pearls, and also did a sick cover of “Wicked Games” by The Weekend.
Her cover of “Wicked Games” is one of my favorite songs because it is far better than the original. Her voice is so pure sounding, and it is a little chilling and creepy. Unfortunately, the song drops the f-bomb throughout, so I can’t post the video on here, but I will post a link to it below!
Since I loved “Wicked Games” so much when I heard it, I looked up some other songs by her, but they are all in French so I don’t understand what she is saying. Fortunately, she is rumored to be working on some English music, so I can love her even more once it is released.
Here’s the link to “Wicked Games.” Seriously, check it out. Have a great week, and thanks for reading
