Happy Saturday everyone! It is nearing the end of recruitment week, and stress levels are high and emotions are raging! To help relieve some of this stress, I have a gem of a music video to share with you.
My friends Sam and Katie introduced this video to me a few nights ago, and since then we have watched it multiple times every day. This song is called “Hot Cheetos & Takis”. This musical masterpiece is sung by Y.N. Rich Kids. I have no idea where these children came from or why they have several music videos. All I know is that I am incredibly disappointed that “Kids” is not spelled like “Kidz”. I feel that would have made this video even more funky fresh.
As you are reading this, you may be asking yourself, “What is a taki?” Takis are chili pepper and lime-flavored snacks made in Mexico. They must be pretty darn good to have a whole song devoted to them! The highlight of the whole video comes around the 2:45 mark when Ben 10 croons (or yells) about needing a snack. It is musical gold. If you fall in love with this tune as I am sure you will, the lyrics, as well as the name of each child signing, is posted in the description of the video. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading
Happy Wednesday everyone!! As of last night, I am back at Butler for formal recruitment. At the beginning of the year, I thought there was no way in heck I would ever want to join a sorority, but after meeting so many girls who were in a house who I would never expect to be, I decided I would give it a try. Last night when I was thinking about the week ahead, I thought I would most likely not join a house. After today though, I am feeling a little better about possibly joining one. I will just have to see how the rest of the week goes!
Today all four hundred-something girls who are rushing went to all seven sorority houses. We are all broken up into different groups of about 20 girls, who then joined up with several other groups to go from house to house. The activity inside the house is seamlessly choreographed so that every second of your time is planned out to be used efficiently. The various coat pass-offs were a general crowd pleaser. At each house, we basically paired off with a girl in the house and chatted for a little while. The day was not nearly as intense as I originally assumed it would be, and I actually really enjoyed it. Although I absolutely loathe small talk, incessantly talking all day long wasn’t as horrible as I anticipated. All of the girls made everyone feel incredibly welcome and comfortable, and there was honestly no house that I did not like. Although that is a good thing, it will make narrowing down my choices much more difficult!
Although I am surprisingly enjoying recruitment so far, being surrounded by so many females at once is a little overwhelming. That’s a lot of estrogen! Also, I noticed that sock buns are totes in right now. I tweeted that I wish I had a dollar for every sock bun I saw today because I would have made bank! Speaking of females, I will leave you with a funny video with all of the ridiculous things girls say. Have a wonderful week, good luck to everyone else who is rushing, and thanks for reading
P.S. Another blogger, Katie, blogged about recruitment today as well. Check it out!!
