Music Monday: Of Monsters & Men

Happy Music Monday everyone! I spent a great deal of my day yesterday listening to, and downloading, new music. I went on an Of Monsters & Men downloading rampage, and nothing has ever felt so right! It all started when I decided to begin an Of Monsters & Men Pandora station. As always, Pandora was nailing every song, so naturally I started downloading like a crazy person!

Of Monsters & Men is a six person, indie folk/indie pop band from Iceland. The band gained notoriety in 2010 after winning Músiktilraunir, their native land’s battle of the bands competition. After winning the competition, their song “Little Talks” became number one in Iceland as of 2011. Since then, their music has spread world wide, and I had the pleasure of encountering a number of their songs yesterday.

In case you hadn’t noticed by the pattern of music I suggest weekly, I am all about indie, folky, weirdo kinda tunes, and this band fits the bill. If Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros had a love child with Florence + the Machine, I feel this is what that child would sound like. I have put some of their songs below, so give them a listen if you would like! Have a great rest of break, and thanks for reading :)
