Happy day everyone! Since it is now officially summer, my blogging duties for Butler University get a little breaky-break. Since this blog is through the Office of Admissions, and there is no school happening right now (quite obviously), my blogging duties are on hold until school starts up again. I know what you’re thinking…”WHAT? She’s done blogging for the whole summer?! How will I ever carry on without Bekah’s wit and insight three times a week?! Ohhh the humanity!!!!” Well, don’t fret my dear readers. I started up a blog specifically to keep up with during the summer so everyone is happy. You’re welcome.
Prior to keeping this blog this year, I never kept up with a blog for fun, just ones I had to make for school. Well, by golly I loved blogging so much that I decided to make a new blog to keep up with during the summer. I don’t have anything on there yet, but I am going to blog on there at least once a week, and I plan on posting any vlogs I do on there as well, so I’m not out of your lives yet. I will post the link below if you are interested in reading some more of my blog posts.
THE LINK TO MY BLOG IS RIGHT HERE. CLICK ME!
Thank you so very much for reading throughout this past school year, and feel free to scroll through and read all of my hilarious and inspiring (I’m like, really humble) posts from this year.
Have an A+ summer, and thanks for reading
I did a vlog discussing what I learned during my first year of college. The most valuable lesson comes at 3:40, so you should probably watch the whole thing.
Thanks for watching
Happy Monday to all! Finals are wrapping up, so hopefully everyone is hanging in there and finishing strong. If you’re already done with finals, I hope your summer has been top notch thus far. Either way, I assume you are in the mood for some new music. Today’s recommendation- The Decemberists.
The Decemberists are an indie rock/indie folk band from Oregon. The band’s debut EP was released in 2001, and since then, they have released six albums. Their most recent album, The King is Dead, was released in January of 2011. A song from this album, “Down By the Water,” was even nominated for Best Rock Song at the 54th Grammy Awards.
The band is most known for their lyrics, which reference folklore and historical events, but their live shows are also said to be engaging because they involve the audience in acting out the songs being sung. I have never been to one of their shows, but that sounds like a rockin’ time.
Their music sounds kind of dreamy and almost transports you to into the places they sing about, adding to their eclectic sound. The Decemberists definitely sound unique, and I quite enjoy them. I have put a few of my faves by them down below.
Have a fabulous week, good luck finishing up on finals, and thanks for reading
“This is Why We Fight”
“Down By the Water”
“Here I Dreamt I Was an Architect”
Happy Thursday everyone! I do apologize for my lack of creativity in these blog posts lately. Just like everyone else on campus, I have been incredibly busy with finals shtuff. Wrapping up loose ends for the end of the year/studying for finals has been consuming my life, but it will all be over soon enough!
Since I am an art + design major, a lot of my work for finals was due last week at Art Now. Although I had a lot due then, the fun didn’t stop there! I have to write a manifesto for my art history class, which is proving to be incredibly challenging, as well as make a visual for it. I also have to create an artist website, complete with a bio, artist statement, and resume for another one of my art classes. So much art, so little time.
The final for my FYS was simple enough. We just had to answer some short essay questions. The only test final I have is for my urban ecology class, and let me tell you, I cannot wait for that to be over. I am not a sciencey person in the slightest, so I am anxiously awaiting the day that science can be out of my life forever.
The awkward, "finals are over!!" celebration dance.
My journalism class’ final was a paper, which I turned in last week, so I just need to finish up my art and urban ecology stuff and I will be free!
Have a great end to the week, thanks for reading, and keep rockin’ those finals
