Happy Music Monday! This is the week before spring break, so everyone is probably going a little stir crazy and is lacking motivation. Although break is so near, do not give up on your schoolwork yet, my friends! Power through these next few days and get your tests and papers done! To help motivate you to have a good week, I have a happy song to share.
This song is “Good Day” by Nappy Roots. Nappy Roots is an American alternative rap group consisting of four people. The group started in Kentucky, and was the best selling hip hop group of 2002. The group has five albums: Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz, Wooden Leather, The Humdinger, The Pursuit of Nappyness, and Nappy Dot Org. Although all of these titles are clear winners, The Pursuit of Nappyness is my personal fave.
My friend Natalie sent this song to my friends as part of our Music Monday tradition we did in high school, so this is the only Nappy Roots song I have ever heard. Since I have only ever heard this one song, I cannot attest for the rest of their work, but this song is really happy and makes me feel good about life. Plus it sounds like a goofy, old school hip-hop song, and nothing is better than that. Have a wonderful week, good luck on schoolwork, and thanks for reading
