Happy Monday everyone! I am baffled by the drastic change in weather since my last post, but today there is snow EVERYWHERE! To keep your mind off the cold weather, give a little listen to some music by your fellow Butler students.
Last Thursday, the Help Heal Haiti chapter here at Butler hosted a benefit concert. There were so many talented musicians that performed, and it made me feel insufficient because I have no musical abilities. Sigh.
First to perform was Freshly Brewed. I blogged about Freshly Brewed last semester, but I am obsessed with them, so of course I have to mention them again. My friend Allie is in Freshly Brewed, so it is always an added bonus to see her sing! They were great as always, and after they performed, a few members from the a Cappella group performed solo. They performed a variety of covers and personal songs, and they were all beautiful!
A few more people performed and did an equally wonderful job, and then Out of the Dawg House performed. I also blogged about Out of the Dawg House last semester, and I am also obsessed with them. They were as spectacular as ever, and did a great job. They did this crazy good mash-up of old school rap songs, and I freaking loved it!
The final act of the evening was a band named Coyotes. They were the winners of Java Jams, which was a music contest held earlier in the year. They played some folky-kinda tunes, and they were so great! They were super high energy and their music was really good. According to my sources, they will be releasing an EP in the very near future, so I highly encourage you to check them out.
Freshly Brewed and Out of the Dawg House will also be having concerts before the year is over, and you better believe I will blog about that too.
P.S. I linked the Facebook pages for all three groups, so go and like the crap outta them!
Have a great rest of the week, and thanks for reading
