If you don’t know what DECA is, well, you definitely missed out! DECA, which is previously known as Distributive Education Clubs of America, is a club on both the high school and collegiate levels for anyone interested in any form of business, whether it be marketing, distribution, accounting, economics, and more! I was a part of it during my senior year of high school, and I really regret not being a part of it before then. In fact, I’ve considered getting a group of friends of mine to start a Collegiate DECA chapter on campus!
It was actually this week of last year that I was able to attend the annual DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Salt Lake City, Utah! The week I spent in Salt Lake City at ICDC getting to network with members from other DECA chapters all around the world was awesome- and I revisit pictures, and even met a few people while I was at ICDC who were incoming freshman to Butler, too! Small world, right? I’m writing this as a “throwback” post because I currently have friend’s at this year’s ICDC, which is actually hosted in Anaheim, California, which is right outside of LA. Needless to say, I’m INCREDIBLY jealous, but I’m glad I got to experience Salt Lake City & all that DECA ICDC had to offer. Who knows, maybe ICDC will come to Indianapolis one day?
