What’s a “ZipTrip,” you may ask? Well, a ZipTrip is known as a trip you take from renting a ZipCar, which is a program here on Butler’s campus. A ZipCar is a car that you can rent for an hour, multiple hours, a day, or multiple days for a charge when joining the ZipCar program, which I joined because I don’t have a car.
I joined the ZipCar program when I got back on campus earlier this semester and finally got my “ZipCard,” which is a card which unlocks and locks the car from a sensor on the window, and the keys are in the car which you use to start it. There are two ZipCars on campus, too, which are a Honda InSight and a Ford Focus, and I chose the InSight (only because it was the only one available; I prefer Fords).
For my first ZipTrip, I drove downtown to Circle Centre Mall in order to return a pair of shoes, and then to Regions to my bank. I only rented the car for only an hour and a half for about 14$, and it’s only about 8$ an hour! It’s incredibly convenient, and it comes with gas and insurance which comes a part of the membership. I definitely plan on taking more ZipTrips throughout the year, too, and would recommend the program to anyone!
