About Me:

Hey, I'm Austin, and I'm currently a freshman here at Butler! I'm an ENTJ, a travel junkie, and an entrepreneur. I'm an Alpha Kappa Psi brother & True Blue Mentor, as well as being a part of Entrepreneurship & Innovation club, the volunteer center, and a student production crew member at the brand new Schrott Center. I also am a part of the student-run business, the Butler Bed Buddy. I'm always looking for something to get involved with on campus as well. Go Dawgs!

The Walking / Talking Dead

As most people know, The Walking Dead has been a huge success in recent history of TV. The show has been one of my personal favorites, and it also inspired me to enroll in my current FYS that I’ve blogged multiple times earlier in the semester about, which is about monster & zombies. Much more have been dedicated to the actual show than just a few classes, though – entire parodies, games, merchandise in retail stores, and much, much more. AMC also hosts another show titled “The Talking Dead,” which is a talk show (obviously) that brings in celebrity guests to talk about the show! Retta (who plays Donna Meagle), which is one of my favorite characters in another one of my favorite shows, Parks and Recreation, has guest starred on it, too!

Some parodies that have come up have included a mock Toy Story / Walking into, which features all of the toys posing as characters from The Walking Dead. It brings a slight twist as to I could never watching a zombie version of one of my favorite children’s movies…but check out the video here. It’s amazing what people do with their spare time!
