I’ve been open to the idea of Community Service for a long time, but it hasn’t been until recently that I’ve looked at it seriously. Part of this is a result of my Liberal Arts education, growing in my understanding of what it means to be human within a community (wait a a minute. Community…community service, I see what’s going on here!).
Ways I’ve gotten involved:
Student Organizations: a friend of mine helped coordinate “Bulldogs as Bigs,” a weekly event in which six Bulter students (myself included) visit the Indiana School for the Blind and interact with a student.
Fraternities: As a member of Phi Delta Theta, I have been involved with the ALS foundation here in Indianapolis. Just a few weeks ago, me and several of my brothers volunteered at the walk here in Indianapolis.
Possibilities are endless!!! The Volunteer Center is another loaded place to find out how to help the local community, as well as programming put on by the Blue House.
