Lazy Men

Although I had planned to be productive over Spring Break, so far I haven’t done anything. Instead, I’ve done a lot of eating, watching television, and social networking. In between being a Tumblr addict and being enthralled by the new Pope announcement today, I have been watching old seasons on Mad Men on my computer. I purchased Season Four a couple summers ago and never got a chance to watch it but now, while I’m trying to procrastinate, is the perfect opportunity.

I first caught wind of the show when I went into Banana Republic one day and saw they had a new Mad Men clothing collection. All the clothes were so nice and stylish and I just had to see what it was all about. I watched a couple episodes and I was hooked! It isn’t one of those shows that is dramatic and attention-grabbing but it is so well-made that I cannot help but watch. The new season starts on April 7 so I can’t wait to clear my Sunday nights to watch!

Here’s a clip from the very last scene of last season:

The Price is Butler

The television show, The Price Is Right, is coming to Butler next month and I’m really excited! I, unfortunately, couldn’t get tickets but I am still excited to watch it on television and see people I know. It is going to be held in Clowes so it is literally right on campus. Hopefully someone I know wins an extravagant prize and shares it with me!

I really hope Bob Barker, even though he isn’t the host anymore, makes a surprise guest appearance. But I’m still excited for Drew Carrey to be on campus. It’ll just be an exciting day, I’m sure. Have fun to everyone who could get tickets!

American Horror Story

American Horror Story is the scariest and most graphic show I’ve ever seen and I love it! I’ve decided to make a quick vlog showing the effects its been having on me and my sleep depravation! It’s a show about a house that if people die in it, then their ghost stays there forever. The second season is supposed to be based in a mental institution so I can’t wait! Jessica Lange is supposed to play the head of the mental institution so I’m really excited because she was excellent in the first season.

Summer Project

So pretty much everyone I know watches and is obsessed with the show Mad Men. Even TV Critics are heralding it as the best show on television. But after seeing the buzz the show’s season finale made last night, I decided to devote my whole summer to getting caught up so I can watch it next year. That is, if I like what I see!

From what I’ve gathered, the show centers around advertising executives in the 1960s, which sounds extremely boring on the surface but I won’t write it off completely until I watch it. Evidently some of the seasons are available on Netflix so I might be looking into a subscription there pretty soon!

Here’s a Sesame Street spoof of the show!

Addicted To Kindle

Since I got my Kindle, I haven’t been able to put it down! I’ve been downloading books, Apps, movies, songs, and TV Shows. I got a free month of Amazon Prime with my Kindle so I can stream free movies and TV shows sort of like Netflix. It might be the best invention ever.

I’ve been watching dozens of shows and have recently discovered GCB because of it. It’s my new favorite show but I found out it was just canceled! :( To make up for my sadness in GCB being canceled, I’ve decided to reconnect with my childhood and watch episodes of Arthur!

He was basically my role model in grade school, despite him being an animal and not human. Sure I may be ten years too old to watch it but who said it was illegal to watch kid shows!

Arguably the best show ever created

Teen Wolf

So in the boredom of my summer so far, I’ve become an avid Internet browser. While browsing the Internet this week I happened to stumble upon the MTV show Teen Wolf.

Teen Wolf is a show starring Tyler Posey as, you guessed it, a teen wolf. He has a hard time dealing with him being a wolf and managing school and his relationships. All during season one he had to protect his friends from the Alpha wolf who was trying to kill them.

Eventually at the end of season one he helps kill the Alpha so I’m unsure what the storyline for season 2 will be but the previews have been very enticing. Luckily MTV has every episode online for free so that is how I’ve been spending my days for the past week!

The second season premieres after the MTV Movie Awards on June 3 so I’m literally counting the days until then! I’m just happy I have a new summer show to keep up on!

Celebrity Follow

Last week I was minding my own business on Twitter when all of a sudden I saw that Teresa Giudice, one of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, was following me! She is the one that is famous for flipping the table in a fight. And of course this makes her my favorite of the housewives. She was also on this season of Celebrity Apprentice.

I’ve only been on Twitter for a couple of weeks and I already have a celebrity following me! Pretty soon I’ll be followed by the god of all New Jersey celebrities: Snooki! In honor of my new follow, I was going to watch the new episode of NJ Housewives but tonight is the new season premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians so I’ll have to record it and watch it tomorrow!

She officially follows me!

Follow The Leader

Although I’ve decided against studying abroad, I am still determined to learn Spanish. So in my recent boredom, I’ve decided to set up by own study abroad program from my home and watch nothing but Spanish Telenovelas on Univision and listen to hispanic music in my car.

So far, my biggest struggle has been completely understanding them when they talk fast on TV. Even after approaching my seventh year of studying Spanish, I still have a hard time with that, even with subtitles! So hopefully my the end of the summer I’ll be a pro.

But even though I’ve committed to watching Spanish shows, of course I can’t give up watching my favorite shows: the Kardashians, Glee, and Good Morning America!

Here is one of the songs I discovered while exploring new Spanish music. Anything with JLo in it, I’m automatically hooked! Plus, it’s mostly in English, which I also like! I can’t get over how different she looks! O.0

Midlife Crisis

This weekend I went home to visit my family and do laundry and get a hair cut! It was a fun and brief time home and I really enjoyed just getting a break. Evidently I must’ve really enjoyed myself since I slept almost 11 hours on Saturday! I guess I was finally catching up for all the lost sleep during the week! Needless to say I felt refreshed when I woke up.

After I woke up, I was flipping through the channels and happened to stumble upon my childhood favorite show, The Amanda Show, on Nickelodeon and needless to say, I was as entertained as I was when I was little! I even remembered all the sketches and spent hours watching the marathon that was on.

I’m probably obviously having a midlife crisis since I’m turning 19 in a few months and the reality that I have to grow up soon is almost settling in. But it won’t come without a fight! So now I’ve decided to relive my childhood and watch all of the old shows I used to love online.

Here is one of my favorite sketches from The Amanda Show! My favorite is Elizabeth Debbie!

How I almost Met Kim Kardashian

On Thursday, after Bob Costas‘ show was done taping, I happened to walk by St Elmo Steakhouse to see a huge crowd in front with a barricade. Of course I had to see what was going on and went over and made my way to the front of the crowd. After asking what was going on, I was informed that Kim Kardashian, the Manning brothers, Adam Sandler, and Troy Aikman were eating inside and that everyone was waiting to get a picture.

Being the Kardashian fan I am, I excitedly waited and had my camera in hand ready to snap a shot! Hours went by until Troy Aikman left with his entourage of friends. Then the Giants coach left with his posse  as well. This made me really excited since there was proof that actual important people were eating there!

A couple hours later, the owner came out to inform the crowd that all the celebrities that were once inside had already gone out of the back door directly to their cars and that Sandler was the only one left inside and he would do the same. Although I was disappointed that I missed Kim’s departure, I was able to swing by the mall right before closing to get some new clothes! So the whole night wasn’t lost! And besides, how many people can say they were within feet of a Kardashian!?

A poorly photoshopped photo of my head on Kim's wedding photo! Creepy? Yes. Necessary? Maybe.
