April Fools Day is my least favorite holiday. This may be surprising since I love making jokes, but I hate being on the receiving end of pranks! Last year I successfully made it through the day without being pranked so hopefully I can enjoy the same fate today! I’m really gullible so usually I forget that the day is April Fools and I end up believing whatever people tell me. But today, I’ll have my guards up!
One thing that will keep my mind off of the day is the fact that my birthday is Wednesday! I got some of my birthday money early so of course I went out shopping on Friday. I was actually good with my spending and I still have over half of it left. I’m usually more picky on what I buy when I have a lot of money as opposed to when I barely have any and I want to buy everything! So hopefully I can make it last a long time.
Being my usual jokester self on Valentine's Day! THAT'S a holiday I actually like!
Once again I had a blast at my volunteer at the Kaleidoscope Youth Center. After I helped the kids with their homework, everyone was allowed to play outside. Since I was the oldest, all the kids wanted me to play football with them so I reluctantly agreed. I should probably remind you of the fact that I have no idea how to even play the game!
Needless to sayI was appointed quarterback and I was the best player. That was probably because I was playing against a bunch of 7 year olds! But still, I was so good I’m basically the next Tim Tebow.
After getting chased around by a bunch of kids, they all decided that they wanted to run and play with their kites they made during crafts. Of course I had to run with them and I had a fun time doing so! I had so much fun that they even inspired me to want to have about 7 kids so I can start my own Kardashian Klan!
Some of the kids I work with flying their kites!
Spring Break is two weeks away and I couldn’t be more excited. No, I’m not going anywhere fancy like Florida or Mexico, but I’m just excited to catch up on some good sleep and not have to do assignments. Maybe I’ll even read a book! The only sad part is that it only lasts a week. And if the weather stays the same, it’ll probably be cold too. But the good outweighs the bad!
To celebrate the glorious occasion, the Collegian is planning a Spring Break insert and I was assigned to write a playlist of songs needed to have a good break. I also had to pick five books that are must haves for the week, too. It was so hard picking just five songs since there are so many good ones, but I managed to survive.
But, if this song isn’t on your Spring Break playlist, you just won’t have a good time!
I can’t believe break is officially over and classes start tomorrow! It’s so weird being back on campus after such a long time off! I already have assignments so I guess I’ll get back into the swing of things quick! Before the semester starts, I decided to make a list of things I’m looking forward to this semester!
1. No Friday Classes- Somehow I got lucky and was able to schedule myself where I don’t have classes on Fridays! Which means I get a three day weekend EVERY week! Usually the days that are freer for me somehow end up being my busiest because of newspaper and such but I am determined to not let that happen this semester!
2. Newspaper- This semester I’m on the Sports section on the Collegian. This means I’ll now have a good reason to go to basketball games instead of doing homework or other club activities! I’m also excited to meet all the new staff members tonight at our first meeting!
3. Classes- Though I am not looking forward to all the homework and assignments, I am looking forward to seeing all my new professors and classmates. Hopefully it’ll be a fun semester and not too hard!
4. Atherton Union- The administration renovated the setup of Atherton Union and I’m curious to see how it looks! Maybe now my lunch and dinner will be a little more exiting!
The thing I missed the most during break: My comfy bed!!!
Today in Spanish class, I was sitting and minding my own business when all of a sudden the fire alarm went off. I of course thought it was a drill and nonchalantly left with my things and went outside. Then, I got a text from the university saying the building had to be left because someone smelled gas.
Once outside, my professor canceled class and we all got to leave! Since I got little sleep the night before, I decided to use this new found free-time to go to Starbucks! While in line, I got another text saying everything was fine and that we were able to go back into Jordan Hall again. It was definitely one of the highlights of my day since we got to leave class early.
Today was also good because I learned how to edit and make videos in my Converged Journalism class. Our assignment is to make our own newscast and I think mine is turning out pretty well so far!
This video definitely makes me excited for spring since the weather has been so cold lately!
So this morning I woke up to a rainy morning so I put on my jeans and shirt and headed to class. But, by the time I got out of class it was so nice and sunny and I wished I had worn my shorts! But don’t be worried, I’ll be sure to whip them out tomorrow! Hopefully it stays warm enough so I can wear them because it looks as though it’s going to rain again!
One of my classes got canceled for tomorrow so now I have a nice long break between classes! I think I’ll take advantage of it by relaxing on the mall and do homework. In my Aesthetics and Design class we are turning in our art projects so I can’t wait to present mine!
That’s all for today! Feel free to leave a comment!

People playing football on the mall! Definitely serves as my sign that spring is here!
So there are five more days until Spring Break (Who’s counting anyway!?) and I am pretty excited! I’ve been getting a lot of stress headaches lately so this break will be much needed! Although I will be on vacation, my break will still consist of work because I have to read 350 pages of Gone With The Wind, which is 1,000 pages long, for my Civil War FYS class.
On Friday in FYS, the Civil War impersonator came back and discussed more concepts and ideas from the time period. He even chose me to come in front of the class and try on his uniform! I must say, the uniform was heavier than it looked! My teacher took pictures of it so when she sends them to me I’ll definitely post them to my blog!
That’s all for today! Feel free to leave a comment and thanks for visiting!

I accidentally got to class half an hour early so what better way to pass the time than to take awkward photos of myself!?
My family likes to do things backwards and start spring cleaning in the WINTER! I didn’t have much to clean in my room since I always try to keep it neat and tidy so it wasn’t too bad!
Tomorrow is Christmas and I’m pretty excited! I think I have an idea of what I’m getting but I can’t be too sure! I also did some last minute Christmas shopping for my family and I beat the crowds so it went well.
Today I am going to purchase my textbooks for next semester. It’s so weird to think that I already finished one semester of college.
That’s all for today! Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.

This is from the State Fair at the beginning of the semester! We're all holding a fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich! It was delicious!
