Spanish and Art Creativity

So today in Spanish class my group finally got to perform our rendition of “Bad Romance” for the class. We pretty much rocked it! We even got extra credit for memorizing it and wearing costumes. I wore a cape (my Halloween costume).

In my Aesthetics and Design class, we had an assignment in which we had to take a blank sheet of paper and somehow raise the value of it. I made it into a pro-recycling sign and included a statistic on it. I’ll post a picture showing it.

That’s all for today! Feel free to leave a comment! You can follow me on twitter here.

Getting More Work Done!

Today I had my Civil War FYS class and I enjoyed it! I love history so it seems like it will be a good fit for me. We have to Gone With The Wind which is really long but we have Spring Break to read it so I’ll manage.

I also decided to get ahead on my Spanish homework so I’m caught up all the way till next week. I feel like I’m starting the new semester with a great/fresh start. I start my ballroom dancing physical well-being class on Friday so that should definitely be a new experience!

Day One, Semester Two

Today was the first day of the new semester and I loved all of my classes! I started the day with Spanish, then I had British Literature, and I ended my day with Aesthetics & Design. Tomorrow I only have one class so I am already looking forward to it!

Already I had to meet with my Spanish group in the library. Our assignment is to use vocabulary words and put it to the tune of a song. The song we are using is “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga.

Thanks for visiting! Feel free to leave a comment!

Caught Up On Work!

This week I’ve actually finished all my work ahead of time instead of procrastinating which has led me to having A LOT of free time. I’ve spent it by reading my Sarah Palin book and just reviewing my other work. Although it sounds boring, it has been so relaxing!

Tomorrow I have to give a presentation in my Irish Literature class. Hopefully I do well! I also have a Spanish Quiz which I hope to do well on as well. Pretty soon I feel finals week will be upon us which I am NOT looking forward to.

That’s all for today! Hopefully I’ll have some good and exciting news/things to blog about next time!

Although this is EXTREMELY embarassing, I have to admit it's really funny. My friend Angela decided to surprise me with this masterpiece!

Thanksgiving is Almost Upon Us!

This upcoming week is the last week before Thanksgiving and I couldn’t be any happier! On Friday, after my last class, I’m going home. I have three exams this week, which is kind of the downside of it all. But, I just have to keep reminding myself that in less than a week I’ll be in the comfort of my own bed!

So I’ve recently been obsessed with Italy lately. One thing I plan to tackle in my lifetime is to learn how to speak Italian (after I conquer Spanish first!). I visited Italy this summer and I fell in love with it. I’d definitely love to live in Rome for a year. :)

That’s all for today! Thanks for visiting my blog! Feel free to leave a comment asking me about Freshman year and Butler life!

This Upcoming week!

I’ve decided to call October “FUNTOBER”!!!

This week, although I have a Spanish Quiz and I have to write a paper, I am going on a Cru Retreat. It is a Christian retreat and it is going to be all weekend. The next week we only have classes for 3 days because of Fall Break. The week after that it is Homecoming week and finally the weekend after that is Halloween! The fraternity Lambda Chi is going to be hosting a Haunted House and it is nationally recognized as being one of the best haunted houses ever, according to one of my friends who lives in the house.

Also, on October 26, there is a seminar on religion and the topic is going to be on “The Future of Islam.” It sounds interesting and I get to achieve part of my Cultural Requirement. The Cultural Requirement at Butler is an initiative to get students to go out and get involved in new learning opportunities. Students have to attend about two of these events a year (or “8 before you graduate”) which isn’t a bad deal considering that the events are free and are interesting. You can go to plays, see the Butler ballet, and attend other various events featured at Clowes Hall to reach the requirement.

Busy as a Bee!

This week for me is going to be very busy!

Today I got my Chemistry test back and got an A which wasn’t a bad way to start off the day. I then had a math test and got another pleasant surprise that we do not have math class for the rest of the week!

But, now I have a lot to do in the rest of my classes. I have to prepare an interview for my Writing for Print Media Class, take a Spanish Quiz, read 100 pages for my First Year Seminar (FYS) course and write two papers for FYS.

Tonight I am attending a College Democrats meeting and I may go on a walk at night to ease some of the stress. One thing about Butler, there is ALWAYS something to do!

My Weekend!

Instead of joining in with my fellow freshmen on various weekend activities, I went home to visit my high school for its Homecoming weekend! I got to see old friends again and even unexpectedly made new ones. I also got to visit my friends at Loyola University in Chicago.

Since my weekend was all fun, now I’m spending my Sunday night like most students: doing homework! I have a math test and a Spanish quiz coming up this week so hopefully I do well! I also have two papers to write for my First Year Seminar class.

I am part of the College Democrats organization at Butler and tomorrow we will be meeting at our faculty advisor’s home and there will be a special guest at the meeting as well.

That’s all for today!
