This weekend I’ve been procrastinating galore and now I have to do half of my homework today. In my defense, I tried to start yesterday but I kept getting distracted by everyone! Whether it was residents coming to my room, having to go out shopping for new cologne, or just dancing in the middle of my hallway, I had a pretty busy day yesterday!
This morning, after finishing one of my papers, I decided to take a break and watch Youtube videos. One of my old favorites I came upon was “Shy Ronnie” from SNL, which features Rihanna. Shy Ronnie is always too shy to sing in front of Rihanna but he gets pretty sassy when she’s gone. It’s by far my favorite SNL skit.
Yesterday, one of my very generous residents made pancakes for the unit! I never had chocolate chip pancakes before nor had I eaten pancakes in years so I was extremely excited to be able to eat some. Needless to say, I had two and they were delicious. And, unfortunately, I ate them extremely quickly because I had to rush to church and I got a stomach ache because of it. They were so good that I think I’ll visit IHOP sometime soon to celebrate my newfound love!
Making the pancakes!
This made me decide to make today’s music monday dedicated to Rihanna and her song “Birthday Cake.” No, my birthday isn’t any time soon but it had the work “cake” in the title so I thought it was fitting. This is one of my favorite songs and let’s just say that I sing this song at the top of my lungs when I’m alone in the car.

Last night was the Grammys on CBS and, since none of my favorite artists were performing, I kept watching on and off while doing homework. The show was ok and had a couple of noteworthy highlights. For me, the best performances were from Justin Timberlake and Maroon 5 & Alicia Keys. My favorite presenters were Beyoncé (obviously) and Ellen Degeneres.
There were a couple of surprises in terms of winners for awards. I was surprised Frank Ocean did not win Album of the Year. I was also surprised to see Adele still snatching in some awards after she dominated last year. The awards show this year made me anticipate the show next year since there will be more artists I like/know in attendance so I can’t wait!

For those who celebrate, Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone has a great and warm holiday this year. Before the eating and unwrapping of gifts begins, I wanted to make a quick blog to talk about the holiday and such.
Thankfully it’s not snowing outside because 1. “White Christmas” is one of my least favorite Christmas songs and 2. I hate the cold. It’s also good because I plan to go shopping tomorrow with all of my Christmas money and the roads need to be clear to make way for me!
One of my favorite Christmas songs, however, is “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. But since I’ve been listening to Michael Bublé’s Christmas album, I thought I’d post his version! His voice is reminiscent of drinking hot chocolate by the fire on a cold day. That basically means I love it! Even though I’ve never actually done that and I hate hot chocolate, his music is just too good.

I’m a few years late to the Coldplay bandwagon but I’ve recently gotten into their music. I’ve been listening to their Mylo Xyloto album on repeat for the past couple of days. My favorite song is “Princess of China” featuring Rihanna because I love the production on it and it’s so catchy!
The song I chose today is “Paradise.” The video features Chris Martin randomly dressed up as an elephant where he escapes from the zoo and runs from the police. I wish I was joking. It’s actually an amusing video. My favorite part is toward the end where he meets up with the rest of the band dressed up as elephants as well and they all start dancing together and end up performing the rest of the song.
Rihanna‘s new album came out today so I thought it’d be appropriate to dedicate today’s Music Monday to her. Her music video to her song “Diamonds” came out recently and I love it. It’s dramatic, has weird imagery, and has a catchy tune. So basically it’s the best thing I’ve seen since “We Found Love.”
First the video has flashes of lots of diamonds and has Rihanna awkwardly rolling around her bed. Then it has her dramatically running from a car and grabbing someone’s arm. My favorite part is when there are two horses and one is on the ground and is dead and it
randomly miraculously comes to life and runs away with the other. I’m not quite sure what it means but I like it.
This week I’ve actually finished all my work ahead of time instead of procrastinating which has led me to having A LOT of free time. I’ve spent it by reading my Sarah Palin book and just reviewing my other work. Although it sounds boring, it has been so relaxing!
Tomorrow I have to give a presentation in my Irish Literature class. Hopefully I do well! I also have a Spanish Quiz which I hope to do well on as well. Pretty soon I feel finals week will be upon us which I am NOT looking forward to.
That’s all for today! Hopefully I’ll have some good and exciting news/things to blog about next time!

Although this is EXTREMELY embarassing, I have to admit it's really funny. My friend Angela decided to surprise me with this masterpiece!
