Yesterday I went to downtown Chicago and attended the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival and I really enjoyed it! I had the secret hope of being on the news but I unfortunately didn’t make an appearance. Maybe next time! The parade/lights show marked the first time that all the Christmas lights in the city were being officially lit up.
There were seemingly millions of people in the streets and I could barely get a good view of the parade! I was tempted to get on someone’s shoulders and pretend they were my parent but decided against it. My favorite balloon was that of Rudolph because, I can’t tell if it was because of the wind or the people holding the strings, he was knocking into the crowd and it was very entertaining.

Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
Today is starting out to be a very nice and warm day. Today I plan on eating with my family and watching my neighbors set off fireworks. But before that, my city puts on a parade every year so I’ll probably go to that for half an hour just to appropriately celebrate our nation’s independence.
I actually celebrated the holiday yesterday at my friend Jessica’s house. There was lots of food, music, and people! But instead of the party, I was focused on her very funny dogs who were there. I took a picture of them because one refused to leave from on top of his doghouse and it reminded me of Snoopy.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a picture of such a funny sight!
