Bowling for Days

So tonight I went bowling with my friend Karleen and, needless to say, I completely dominated. I normally throw gutters galore but tonight I successfully played one whole game without throwing a single one! My score ended up being like 83 but, since I was playing against such an amateur, I won pretty easily. ;)

We went to a place called Latitude 39 and it was really nice! It had neon lights, weird techno music, and great smelling food! So basically everything I’ve ever needed. The food there was awkwardly expensive so we got McDonald’s afterwards. I usually don’t like going off campus much on school nights but I did all my homework so I thought, “Why not!?”

I can’t wait to go again! I love playing against Karleen because she makes me feel better about how I play! Just kidding! …But seriously……

Taking the alley by storm!

Lollapalooza Lineup

So for the past two days everyone and their mom has been tweeting, Instagraming, and tattooing about getting Lollapalooza tickets. Personally I couldn’t get myself to buy the tickets because it was so much money for something I didn’t even know who was playing. The lineup hasn’t been announced so I wouldn’t even know if I liked the people or not. Also, outdoor festivals creep me out.

That being said, today a rumored lineup list appeared on the Internet and got me excited to say the least. It has Lana Del Rey, Azealia Banks, and other cool artists were on the list. If that’s the case, I might buy a one day pass just to see Lana and Azealia since all the other tickets were sold out.

Here’s Lana’s newest video just to get myself in the mood:

Music Monday: JT

After a 7-year music break, Justin Timberlake is finally releasing his third studio album tomorrow and I’m pretty excited. I wasn’t always a fan of Justin but when “Sexyback” came out, I was hooked. His first single “Suit and Tie,” although it took time to grow on me, is great! It makes me feel classy when I listen to it and I like to sing and dance along to it in the car. I can’t dance as well as him but I’m getting there!

Justin has been all over SNL, Jimmy Fallon, and other shows to promote the album, which has gotten me really excited. He even performed a new song each day last week on Jimmy Fallon. And after listening to the full album on iTunes yesterday, I can’t wait to buy it! It’s a lot of R&B and Pop sounds, which I love. There are also rumors that he’s making a volume two to this album as well so I can’t wait!

Music Monday: Home Again

In honor of seeing Oz The Great and Powerful on Saturday I decided to dedicate today’s Music Monday to Mariah Carey‘s song for the movie, “Almost Home.” It’s a very understated song, which I like about it, yet it still shows off her vocal ability. I also chose it because I’m home for Spring Break so I thought the title was slightly fitting.

As I stated in my previous blog post, I loved the movie! The music video features clips from the movie between clips of Mariah singing with a very powerful wind machine, I might add. The song isn’t in the movie but is the very last song played in the credits, which is disappointing since it’s a great song!

The Return

Today I made the journey back to Butler. And after listening to the Lana Del Rey album, twice, I finally made it back! Needless to say, campus is extremely creepy and quiet right now. I have been desperately trying to find people to no success! The positive, the laundry room is all mine!! I’m definitely taking advantage of it before all the people start to pour in.

During the day when I had free time, I decided to rearrange my room. It took a while since all of the furniture is so heavy and I had so much stuff but I eventually got it the way I want. I also vacuumed my room for the second time this year so I think I’m turning a new leaf in my life for the better, being clean!

The mess that was my room before I got it organized.

Les Miserables

I haven’t been to the movies in ages so I’ve decided that I want to see the movie Les Miserables with my friend Hayley tomorrow. I’ve heard so many great things about the film so I decided that it would be worth while seeing. The film is based on the famous musical from the 1800s.

I keep seeing all the members of the cast on various talkshow interviews discussing how they had to lose weight for the film, how cold the weather conditions were, and about the struggles of being an actor. An interesting fact I learned about the movie is that they all had to sing their songs live and did not lip-sync like musicals normally do.

I’m really looking forward to hearing Anne Hathaway sing “I Dreamed A Dream” since it’s one of my favorite songs of all time. My favorite version is Susan Boyle’s version so hopefully little Annie can do it justice!

Merry Christmas!

For those who celebrate, Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone has a great and warm holiday this year. Before the eating and unwrapping of gifts begins, I wanted to make a quick blog to talk about the holiday and such.

Thankfully it’s not snowing outside because 1. “White Christmas” is one of my least favorite Christmas songs and 2. I hate the cold. It’s also good because I plan to go shopping tomorrow with all of my Christmas money and the roads need to be clear to make way for me!

One of my favorite Christmas songs, however, is “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. But since I’ve been listening to Michael Bublé’s Christmas album, I thought I’d post his version! His voice is reminiscent of drinking hot chocolate by the fire on a cold day. That basically means I love it! Even though I’ve never actually done that and I hate hot chocolate, his music is just too good.

Wide Awake

Since I’ve had a lack of substantial finals to do this week but still have to be here because I’m an RA, my sleeping patterns have been out of whack and I’ve been sleeping a lot during the day and wide awake at night. Not even coffee and Red Bull have been able to keep me up during the day but I’ve been slowly managing. I guess my days of being an early bird are slowly being left behind.

I only have to be here two more days so that’s pretty exciting. It has been so fun seeing campus getting emptier and emptier as the days go on. I cannot wait to see how quiet things are on Saturday night! And it’ll be extremely strange seeing the parking lot empty on Sunday.

I just woke up from a nap and thought it appropriately described me.

Follow The Leader

Although I’ve decided against studying abroad, I am still determined to learn Spanish. So in my recent boredom, I’ve decided to set up by own study abroad program from my home and watch nothing but Spanish Telenovelas on Univision and listen to hispanic music in my car.

So far, my biggest struggle has been completely understanding them when they talk fast on TV. Even after approaching my seventh year of studying Spanish, I still have a hard time with that, even with subtitles! So hopefully my the end of the summer I’ll be a pro.

But even though I’ve committed to watching Spanish shows, of course I can’t give up watching my favorite shows: the Kardashians, Glee, and Good Morning America!

Here is one of the songs I discovered while exploring new Spanish music. Anything with JLo in it, I’m automatically hooked! Plus, it’s mostly in English, which I also like! I can’t get over how different she looks! O.0

Final Day To Almost Freedom

Today is the last day of classes before finals and I’m super excited. One of my classes for today was canceled so today got a little more exciting! But then I realized I still have to give a presentation in my Research class so the excitement subsided a little. I’m so nervous to present! I’m sure I’ll do fine since I’ve been practicing but it’s still hard to get over those nerves!

Since finals don’t start until Wednesday, Tuesday is wide open. So I’ve decided to start moving some of the stuff I don’t use home. It feels so weird to say that I’m starting to move out of my room already. It’ll be even weirder because next week I’ll be half way done with college! :o I’m not ready to leave just yet!! I’m going to have to make the most of the next two years as it seems like these two have just flown by!

Last week when I went to Starbucks one night, there was a mini concert going on! I've yet to find out who was playing.
