New Identities

So I get bored easily so one of the things I take my frustrations out on is the Starbucks on campus. Normally at Starbucks when you get a drink they ask you for a name on the cup so they can give you the correct drink on the other side of the store. So since I’ve caught on that you don’t have to provide your real name, I’ve been taking this opportunity to adopt a plethora of new identities!

My favorite go-to identities are Barack Obama and Beyoncé but there are others I use as well. It’s always so funny to hear “Venti water for Barack Obama” and it’s hilarious to see people’s reactions when they hear the name and see me walking up to get my cup. I keep running out of ideas but I can’t wait to use more identities in the upcoming weeks!

Music Monday: New Year Miracle

Last night, as I was minding my own business about to go to bed, I decided to go online just to check on the news for the day. While I was on Twitter, all of a sudden I saw KimYe trending. KimYe is short for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and is their celebrity couple name. And if you know anything about me, you’d know that Kanye is my favorite rapper/singer and Kim is my favorite person in existence. When I clicked on the trend, to my surprise, I found out that she is pregnant with Kanye’s child. The joy I felt was beyond words and needless to say this baby is a New Year’s miracle.

I got unnecessarily too excited about this news and started texting everyone in my phone expressing my excitement. Sure it was 1 AM but this was earth shattering news so it was urgent! Everyone I talked to was just as excited as me, or at least pretended to be. Now I will make it my number one goal to babysit this baby.

Music Monday: Yeezy Edition

Although Beyoncé is my favorite singer, Kanye West is my favorite artist overall. I just love how creative his lyrics are and I love the creativity of his music videos. He’s also dating Kim Kardashian so that’s a plus in my book as well. My favorite song by Kanye is “Paris,” but my favorite video is “Power.”

The video is only 1 minute and 43 seconds long and is very creative. It is almost like a moving painting that starts out with a close headshot of Kanye and ends with a widened panoramic video of all of the other chaos going on in the “picture.” I love trying to focus on a new part of the painting each time I watch the video to see if I missed something the first time.
