Last weekend, for our last weekend seminar on the History of Baseball in the District, we were able to attend a Washington Nationals Game. Although I have a sworn allegiance to the Yankees, I was still able to enjoy the game. They played the St Louis Cardinals so regardless I wouldn’t have cared if any team lost.
The only previous MLB game I’ve attended was the first home game the Yankees won in their new stadium during the regular season. It was really cool seeing a new stadium and going to a professional game during one of the last weekends of the semester.
The funnest part of the game was seeing how different things connected to some of the historical facts we learned in class. We got to understand why the Nationals came to DC from Canada.

This Saturday, Butler is taking us D.C. interns to the Butler v. Georgetown basketball game! It will be held at the Verizon Center. I’m pretty excited because it will be the first basketball game I’ve attended this season and it will be in D.C. nonetheless!
Before the game they are treating us to lunch and we will be eating with LJ and Butler alumni in the area. I’m not quite sure where they’re taking us but I’ll be sure to blog about it after it happens! I can’t wait to meet everyone!
I awkwardly don’t own any Butler T-Shirts so while I’m here I am highly debating buying a Georgetown shirt so I can have all my bases covered no matter the outcome of the game. Sure that’s being a fair weather fan but there’s no shame in my game. Plus, I might be attending Georgetown for grad school so technically I’m fine. Don’t judge.
