It is so hard to believe that it has been 11 years since 9/11. It is definitely humbling experience thinking that could have happened to anyone and anywhere. I was in fourth grade when the attacks happened and I can vividly remember watching it on television in class and not clearly understanding what exactly was happening. It is very interesting to see how much has changed since then and how the attacks those days are still relevant in today’s discourse.
I think today is always a good day to reflect on all the lives that were lost that day and to see how united that event made our country. Many people on Facebook have been posting messages and statuses about it so it is definitely hard to not take some time to think about it.
Yesterday was good for a couple of reasons. First, we had our blogger kick off party and all the bloggers got to reunite and eat and catch up. It was also good because I got, for the hundredth time, got a Facebook. I got it this time to keep up with my residents in my unit and to make a group and regularly update it. As soon as I’m friends with all of my residents I’ll make the group.
The biggest, and greatest, thing to happen yesterday was that my posters that I ordered from AllPosters came in! It’s so great because my room was so boring without them! I finally feel at home!
I have developed a weird obsession with short films recently, which inspired a big decision in my life. My favorite short film so far is called “Some Boys Don’t Leave,” with the “boy” being portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg, who played Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the movie “The Social Network.” I’ve never seen the Social Network but I looked up clips online and I feel like I would enjoy it!
After looking up that he was in The Social Network, I was inspired to make a Facebook and join the rest of humanity online. I’m already obsessed with it and I’m pretty sure I’ll keep it this time instead of deleting it like I always do! Since I’m in this new social networking phase, I also created a new Twitter account. I currently have 74 followers which BASICALLY means I’m the next Kim Kardashian , who has almost 13 million followers but that’s just a minor detail!
I’m thinking of making a Tumblr account as well. Pretty soon I’ll be on EVERY social networking site! Who knows, maybe I’ll go back to my old Myspace! JUST KIDDING!
I needed a chair to sit in the press area at the women's basketball game and of course the one I got broke in half!
As I mentioned previously, I made a Facebook over the weekend out of boredom. Well, as of yesterday, I deleted it again! It was just too confusing to handle! I’ll just be happy with my Twitter and leave Facebook alone!
In unrelated news, my Michael Bublé obsession has soared to new heights! Not only have I been listening to his new Christmas album non-stop on a continuous loop, but I’m also learning the words to all his other songs as well (If only I could sing!!)
One good thing I can say I’ve done this week is I haven’t been procrastinating! I got most of my homework for the week done yesterday! Now I have LOADS of free-time! Maybe now I’ll have time to watch the shows I’ve been meaning to catch up on like The X Factor and Modern Family!
I found this funny photo of myself from my British Literature project from last year! I was obviously enjoying nature that day!
I have no idea what I was doing in this picture..... But I still like it!
