White Coat Ceremony

On Friday I attended my friend Elissa’s White Coat Ceremony for being a PA Major at Clowes. I got to sit with her parents and our friend Lisa and twas a grand time! Her parents were so precious and nice and we had a fun time chatting it up during the ceremony. It was almost like watching a graduation ceremony seeing all the PA and Pharmacy majors walk across stage and get their coats. I also got to see my other pals who are PA & Pharmacy majors walk across as well and celebrate with their families.

Afterwards I was starving and ran over to the dining hall and since it’s Friday they had fish which, if you know me, makes me very happy. Fish Fridays are literally the highlight of my life and I always get awkwardly enthusiastic whenever they serve fish on Fridays. It’s just a little something that makes Friday just a little but better.

The Price is Butler

The television show, The Price Is Right, is coming to Butler next month and I’m really excited! I, unfortunately, couldn’t get tickets but I am still excited to watch it on television and see people I know. It is going to be held in Clowes so it is literally right on campus. Hopefully someone I know wins an extravagant prize and shares it with me!

I really hope Bob Barker, even though he isn’t the host anymore, makes a surprise guest appearance. But I’m still excited for Drew Carrey to be on campus. It’ll just be an exciting day, I’m sure. Have fun to everyone who could get tickets!

Jimmy Loves Butler

Last night Jimmy Fallon held a show on campus at Clowes Hall and it seems like everyone went but me! I had class when tickets were being sold so I couldn’t buy tickets so I resorted to trying to win the random Twitter contests to win tickets. Of course I didn’t win and spent the night doing homework. Hey, at least I got the majority of my assignments for this week done!

During the time of Jimmy’s performance, there was not a single person in the hallway or lounge so I decided to Skype my friend Katie from high school to keep me company until everyone got back from the show. Of course it is impossible to keep up a 2 hour long Skype conversation so I ended up working out (shocking, I know) until the big season finale of Kourtney and Kim Take New York. It was the big episode where she announces she wants a divorce and it was the best episode EVAR! There was so much drama, crying, and excitement!

Needless to say I ended up having a fun night trying to find random things to do to fill my time and it was nice to finally have a relaxed Sunday evening without stressing about doing all my assignments at the last minute!

This is my friend Taylor and I after our Collegian meeting last week. I was evidently excited for some reason!

Movie Night!

Last Friday I had a movie night with my friend Jill. It was great to relax and enjoy myself before the semester really kicks into gear. She went to The Fray concert at Clowes and said it was really fun. After the concert, she came to my dorm so we could start our monthly movie night!

The first movie we watched was Twilight. We both loathe the Twilight series so we thought it would be funny to make fun of it. It did not fail to impress with its awkward acting and gloomy mood.

The other movie we watched was Star Trek. It is one of my favorite movies and was also enjoyable. I cannot wait until the sequel comes out next year! Hopefully I’ll be able to see it at midnight when it first premieres.

Here is a trailer for the new movie “Drive” that I want to see:

Another Day…. With Tornadoes!

This morning I was woken up by my RA who informed me that everyone in the building had to head to the basement because of a tornado watch! It was scary at first but I had never been under a tornado watch before so it was exciting nonetheless!

I had purchased the Taylor Swift CD the night before so this gave me the chance to listen to it! It was an ok album. I think Taylor Swift is still her best album to date. I’m more of a hardcore Lady Gaga fan so I’m more partial to mainstream pop music even though I love country as well.

After the tornado warning expired I was happy to hear that my Chemistry class was canceled! I still had to go to three other classes but it still made my day (Even though I love Chemistry!).

Tonight I’m going to a seminar at Clowes Hall about the future of Islam in America. I feel as though it will be a very informative talk and hopefully I can learn something about Islam from it!

That’s all for today! The random song of the day today is my favorite song from Taylor Swift’s new album

Random Song of the Day: “Innocent” by Taylor Swift.

This Upcoming week!

I’ve decided to call October “FUNTOBER”!!!

This week, although I have a Spanish Quiz and I have to write a paper, I am going on a Cru Retreat. It is a Christian retreat and it is going to be all weekend. The next week we only have classes for 3 days because of Fall Break. The week after that it is Homecoming week and finally the weekend after that is Halloween! The fraternity Lambda Chi is going to be hosting a Haunted House and it is nationally recognized as being one of the best haunted houses ever, according to one of my friends who lives in the house.

Also, on October 26, there is a seminar on religion and the topic is going to be on “The Future of Islam.” It sounds interesting and I get to achieve part of my Cultural Requirement. The Cultural Requirement at Butler is an initiative to get students to go out and get involved in new learning opportunities. Students have to attend about two of these events a year (or “8 before you graduate”) which isn’t a bad deal considering that the events are free and are interesting. You can go to plays, see the Butler ballet, and attend other various events featured at Clowes Hall to reach the requirement.
