Fall Break is here!

Well, fall break isn’t here quite yet but it’ll officially be here after my class on Wednesday! I’m so excited to be able to go home and not do any work! I have so many things planned! I want to go to Chicago with my friends from home, eat Chipotle, and visit my friends at Loyola University. Hopefully I have enough time to do it all! I also have some projects for school to do too! Needless to say, I’ll probably still end up being stressed over break too.

This past weekend also marked my fourth consecutive weekend of going shopping at the mall which may mean one of two things. 1. I’ve been catching some really good deals or 2. I have a shopping problem….. I think I’m leaning toward number 1! My new favorite store to hit up is Banana Republic. They even have a Mad Men clothing collection so now I can dress like the cast from the show! I’m a new Mad Men fan so this is very exciting.

I thought I’d lighten the mood with a Mad Men inspired Sesame Street skit

Chicago Adventure

So REACH, Butler’s diversity organization, sponsored a free trip to Chicago to the first 25 students to sign up and luckily I was one of them! The trip was to see a play called “Mary” at the Goodman Theatre. We left at campus at 10 am and got back at 10 pm. It was definitely a full day!

When we got to Chicago, we had an hour and a half to explore on our own before the play started so a group of us all went to get lunch. I had Chinese food which was delicious to say the least!

After this, we all went to see the play which I also loved. It did a great job portraying real-life gender and racial issues facing Americans. It had its serious moments and it also had its funny moments. I would not mind seeing it again!

After the play, we ended the day by going to Giordano’s Pizzeria which was also paid for. I’m from the Chicago area so I’ve had it before but it tastes better with each bite! I even had four slices left over to bring home.

When we got back to campus, I went to my dorm room and decided to unwind by laying down and browsing the Internet. In doing this, I decided to make a Tumblr! I recently deleted my Facebook because I got bored with it so this is a really nice substitute with my time! Along with Twitter, I feel like I’ve now covered all the important social networking sites.

That’s all for today! Feel free to leave a comment and thanks for visiting my blog!

No Tron for Now

My plans for seeing the movie Tron: Legacy got canceled so there won’t be a review for now! But I do plan on seeing it eventually! I think I’m more excited for the music in the movie more than the actual plot though.

There are still many more days left for break but it is still going by fast. I have to make sure I make the most of it and do stuff every day. I am thinking of going to downtown Chicago tomorrow to shop and eat with some friends at Olive Garden. It’s sort of a tradition where a group of us will eat at Olive Garden and sit for hours and catch up.

That’s all for today! Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions!

The Chicago Marathon and Ireland

This week I have to write three papers. Instead of procrastinating, I actually finished two of them already! I had to write one paper for Chemistry about how I would help the environment if I were elected to be President. It had to be 4-5 pages and actually didn’t take that long to write because I’ve always wanted to be President so I just wrote out what I’ve always wanted to do! :)

I then wrote a “Personality Profile” for my Writing for Print Media class. I chose to write about my friend Jill who recently ran the Chicago Marathon. I just visited her this past weekend at IU so I got to interview her then and it went well! The last paper, which I will write tonight or tomorrow, is for my First Year Seminar class. I think I am going to write about how “The Troubles” in Ireland affected children. I have to defend my case using two of the texts we have read in class.

This weekend I am going home because I have to get a haircut. I can’t wait to see my friends and family! Last time I went home I had so much fun!

That’s all for today! The elections are tomorrow and I’m sad because I’m still 17 so I’m not old enough to vote yet. :( But at least I can vote in the Presidential election in two years! :)

This is me and some of my friends the last time I went home. It was at the Homecoming football game.

This Weekend!

I am excited! Tonight I am going to see the performance of Eurydice at Lilly Hall, which houses the music school. I am also going on a retreat this weekend with Butler’s Cru. It is Butler’s Christian group. I will be driving two other people to the retreat in my car.

One perk that Butler provides that many other schools don’t is that Freshmen are allowed to have cars on campus. It definitely comes in handy when I’m out of water or floss!

Tomorrow should be a pretty easy day. I only have two classes tomorrow and no tests (thankfully!). Next week is fall break and the week after that is HOMECOMING! I think I will go to the boys soccer game against Loyola Chicago since some of my friends attend the school and may come to the game!

That’s all for today!

This is where most freshmen will live (Ross Hall). It holds mostly guys but there is one floor of girls.
