Lollapalooza Lineup

So for the past two days everyone and their mom has been tweeting, Instagraming, and tattooing about getting Lollapalooza tickets. Personally I couldn’t get myself to buy the tickets because it was so much money for something I didn’t even know who was playing. The lineup hasn’t been announced so I wouldn’t even know if I liked the people or not. Also, outdoor festivals creep me out.

That being said, today a rumored lineup list appeared on the Internet and got me excited to say the least. It has Lana Del Rey, Azealia Banks, and other cool artists were on the list. If that’s the case, I might buy a one day pass just to see Lana and Azealia since all the other tickets were sold out.

Here’s Lana’s newest video just to get myself in the mood:

Magnificent Parade

Yesterday I went to downtown Chicago and attended the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival and I really enjoyed it! I had the secret hope of being on the news but I unfortunately didn’t make an appearance. Maybe next time! The parade/lights show marked the first time that all the Christmas lights in the city were being officially lit up.

There were seemingly millions of people in the streets and I could barely get a good view of the parade! I was tempted to get on someone’s shoulders and pretend they were my parent but decided against it. My favorite balloon was that of Rudolph because, I can’t tell if it was because of the wind or the people holding the strings, he was knocking into the crowd and it was very entertaining.

Chicago Break

Over the fall break weekend I drove to Chicago to visit my friend Hayley, who goes to Loyola. The weather was extremely rainy and cold so I had to bundle up and drive carefully to get there!

On my way there!

Hayley had a dance performance at Loyola’s new performing arts center so I was happy to attend and show my support! It was part of one of her dance classes and they did a modern dance routine and I was definitely impressed!

After her performance, we went downtown to go shopping! I needed to go to Apple to get a new phone charger and to H&M to get a new sweater for the cold weather! But first we stopped by Macy’s and there I saw Nicki Minaj‘s new perfume/fragrance stand so of course I had to take a picture! I didn’t buy any since it’s for girls but I at least smelled it.

Overall, I had a fun time and can’t wait to go back to the Windy City (literally since the weather was so awful)!

Music Monday

I’ve decided to hop on the Music Monday trend and do a review of the new Lana Del Rey music video. To give a background, Lana’s music is kind of bleak, dull, and dreary, and I love it! Her most famous song is “Video Games,” which she performed on Saturday Night Live a little bit ago. She’s currently the spokesperson for H&M and of course I had to take a picture with her picture in the store in Chicago!

Lana and I in Chicago!

The music video for her song “Ride” takes place in a desert in Nevada. Lana plays a woman who has to sleep with different men for protection/housing. The video definitely has an interesting concept. My favorite part of it is all of the scenery and the quality of the film. It’s 10 minutes long, which makes it a little lengthy, but I was entertained the whole time. I recommend watching it if you have some spare time.

Real Finding Nemo

Last week I was able to go to the Shedd Aquarium with my friend Jessica and I ended up having a lot of fun! It was my first time ever going so it was sort of like a reliving my childhood moment. We thought it would be good to get there early to beat all the field trips but after getting there, we realized that didn’t make much sense and were soon bombarded by small children of all sorts.

It was so fun seeing all the animals! I saw all kinds of fish, snakes, sea horses, and much more. I just had no idea all of these species existed. It was like watching Finding Nemo and Animal Planet in real life. We didn’t pay for any of the big exhibits but if we go back again, I definitely want to see the Jellyfish display that I’ve been seeing all the commercials for.

One of the huge fish we saw that day!

Beautiful Weather

The weather has been extremely beautiful lately and I recently went to Chicago to enjoy it. My friend Jessica and I walked around the city to see all the people, to pick up a new book, and to get things out of her locker at Colombia University.

We ended up going to a restaurant called Eleven City Diner for lunch and it was delicious! I got turkey sliders and I couldn’t even finish them all! I am really looking forward to going back and trying something else as there were so many things on the menu that looked good.

My favorite part of the day was sitting out by the beach and starting to read my book! I ended up getting a book called Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. From what I understand so far, it combines elements of the Civil War and vampires. Sounds fun!

Our view by the beach! It was such a beautiful day!

Looking To Summer

I am literally counting down the days until summer vacation and I can’t be more excited. Here’s a list of things I’m excited to do this summer/desperately want to do:

1. Read a book (preferably the Hunger Games)

2. Go to the Nicki Minaj concert

3. Meet Kim Kardashian

4. Go to the Shedd Aquarium

5. Get a job

6.Go to the Museum of Science and Industry

7. Soak up the sun on the beach

Kardashian Khaos

Last week I found out that the Kardashians would be in Chicago on Friday at Sears. Not only did excitement rush through my body, I was determined to go no matter what. Nothing was going to keep me from meeting Kim. …Or so I thought.

Friday morning I woke up early to drive all the way to the mall they were going to be at just so I could see Kim. When I got there at 9 am to wait to see them, there were already about 300 people there even though the event didn’t start until 5 pm!! Some had even camped out since 3 pm the night before!

So since my chances of meeting her were shot since she was only meeting 200 people, I decided to just wait around the mall just to get a glimpse of her. So I waited hours upon hours prancing around until 5 came. To make a long story short, I did get to see her in the flesh but I was so far back and there were so many TALL people in front of me that I could barely manage a good picture. But I heard rumors that they’re coming back to Chicago in the summer so that’ll be my chance to camp out over night and finally meet Kim!! She looked so good in person!!!

This is the best picture I could salvage of Khloe and Kim

Live From Chicago

I spent my whole day in Chicago yesterday visiting my friend Hayley. It was definitely a fun way of ending my Spring Break.

When I first got there, I had to get out of my car and let Hayley take the wheel because there was only one parking spot at her dorm and it was a really tight parallel spot. In case I haven’t mentioned it before, I am completely incapable of parking properly. After it took her for what it seems like 15 minutes to get in the spot, we decided to walk around and see all the people dressed in green since it was St. Patrick’s Day. I forgot to wear green but thankfully no one pinched me!

After we walked around, Hayley had a dance receital with her dance team from Loyola at UIC so I went with her there. It was really fun seeing the team perform and might attend another of their performances next month! After the competition we all went to McDonald’s and then walked back to her dorm where we spent the rest of the night telling funny stories of the summer before!

It ended up being a really fun day and it made me more excited about summer since the weather has been so nice lately!

Here's the team on stage during their performance

St. Patrick’s Day

Everyone is getting excited on my local news stations for St. Patrick’s Day and I feel like I’m the one who awkwardly isn’t. I think the only reason why I’m not excited is because I don’t have anything green to wear! That’s really funny considering the fact that green is my favorite color. So hopefully no one pinches me!

My friend Jessica wants to go to the St Patty’s Day parade in downtown Chicago tomorrow so I might end up doing that! The only thing that might prevent me from going is the fact that there are supposed to be isolated thunderstorms that day! I’ve never been to a big parade on that level so I do think it would be a really fun experience. So I’ll just have to wait and see!

Here’s a scene from my favorite Disney movie, “The Luck of the Irish.” They’re playing it on Disney this weekend so if I don’t go to the parade I’ll be at home watching!
