21st Birthday!

Last week I celebrated my 21st birthday! It was actually really fun, but not in the way you’re thinking. I had a weekend class seminar about Cryptography on my birthday. Our class spent all day visiting the National Spy Museum and the Cryptography Museum. The course involved a lot of puzzles and math and surprisingly I learned a lot about cryptic messages and the history behind them!

Normally people don’t like being in class all day on their birthday but I did considering I got to visit two new museums I wouldn’t have otherwise! Plus, I got all my gifts and texts wishing me a happy birthday throughout the day so it still felt like my big day.

Plus, I don’t work on Fridays so the rest of the day I had free! I took the time to do some shopping with my birthday money and trust me, it was money well spent. The only weird part of the day was not being on campus with all my friends on my birthday but I was still with the Butler group in DC so all is well!

Best Gift Ever

So yesterday was my birthday and it was a good day! I ate lots of sweet and got a few presents and cards from friends. I, unfortunately, still had to go to class but it was still a good day! I also got money and things from my family that I can’t wait to spend/use this weekend!

Also, one of the sports hats I ordered came in the mail yesterday right on time for my birthday to complete my collection! It was fate that it came on my birthday and it’s like a birthday gift to myself!

The best gift I got yesterday was the one I got from the staff at the Collegian. When I got to our staff meeting last night, I was shocked to see that everyone had signed a card wishing me a Happy Birthday and that they had put together a Sportswriting book with Kim Kardashian on the front for me! It was the nicest thing ever and was so so so happy! I’ll definitely be using my gift often!

This is the gift they made for me at the Collegian!

It’s My Party, I’ll Cry If I Want To

Today is a very special day… It’s my birthday! I turned the big 19 today! And while most people would be happy on their birthday, I’m actually awkwardly not. It just hit me that it’s my last year of being a teenager. Pretty soon I’m going to have to go out in the real world! So I’m determined to get the most out of this year and am going to live out my childhood to the fullest. Disney Channel, here I come!

I plan on going home this weekend to celebrate my birthday/Easter with my family. It’ll probably get me more excited for the birthday spirit so I can’t wait! The one big gift I want for my birthday this year is to meet Kim Kardashian. Hey, a guy can dream, can’t he!? Considering the fact that my birthday isn’t over yet, it still has the possibility of happening! The biggest way I’m treating myself today is that I am going to eat all the sweets in the world! I am definitely going to have a stomach ache tomorrow. ;)

This song is one of my favorite songs and is ironically perfect for the day! Enjoy!

Least Favorite Holiday

April Fools Day is my least favorite holiday. This may be surprising since I love making jokes, but I hate being on the receiving end of pranks! Last year I successfully made it through the day without being pranked so hopefully I can enjoy the same fate today! I’m really gullible so usually I forget that the day is April Fools and I end up believing whatever people tell me. But today, I’ll have my guards up!

One thing that will keep my mind off of the day is the fact that my birthday is Wednesday! I got some of my birthday money early so of course I went out shopping on Friday. I was actually good with my spending and I still have over half of it left. I’m usually more picky on what I buy when I have a lot of money as opposed to when I barely have any and I want to buy everything! So hopefully I can make it last a long time.

Being my usual jokester self on Valentine's Day! THAT'S a holiday I actually like!

Happy Birthday To ME!

So today is my 18th birthday and it marks the SECOND year in a row that it has rained on my birthday. Last year it was on Easter and it STILL rained! My birthdays are definitely not good weather days! But it is getting warmer so I can’t complain.

Since classes tomorrow are canceled in celebration of the basketball game, I am planning on going home to celebrate my big day with my family! It should be fun and we’re planning on going out to eat.

I was surprised when I woke up to countless numbers of texts and messages from my friends telling me happy birthday. It just feels weird being considered an adult now!

It would even be a better birthday if the team wins the game tonight against UConn! I’ll definitely be up watching! Then I’d have TWO things to celebrate!

Final Four!

So the Bulldogs made it to the Final Four and everyone on campus couldn’t be more excited! We spent the first 10 minutes of my FYS class today discussing Butler’s prospects of winning it all. They play VCU on April 2 and the championship is on the 4th, which is my birthday! Nothing would make me happier than seeing Butler win the National Championship on my birthday!

I went into Starbucks today and the 100.9 Radio Station was there giving free items and taking people’s pictures. I got a keychain and they took my picture with a sign! The picture isn’t on their website yet but I’ll post it here once it is! I think they’re trying to raise Indy’s spirit for the Bulldogs!

Happy Birthday Blue!

Friday was Butler’s mascot, Blue‘s, birthday! He turned seven in human years, which is 49 in dog years I think, so he’s getting to be an old little fella! The party for him was held in Starbucks and I’ve never seen it more packed! There were also many prospective students and their parents in attendance. It was definitely a good day to take a tour!

I made sure to force my way to the front of the crowd because I saw the guy from Fox news filming. I never miss an opportunity to be on the news! We all sang happy birthday and participated in eating all the free cookies. There was a contest to guess the correct number of dog treats in a bowl and the winner got a Starbucks gift card.

Blue tried running away twice while we all were singing to him. He’s probably sick of all the paparazzi following him!

Blue and his owner on his big day! He was definitely getting rowdy in his party hat!

Big Day Tomorrow!

Tomorrow I will be taking three of my four finals! The pressure is on! I’m very nervous but hopefully I’ll do well on all of them. It’s weird how fast the semester has gone by. I can’t believe I’m already taking finals.

I’m glad the week is almost over because I need a break from all the studying and work! I just want to go home and eat Chipotle FOREVER! It’s my favorite place to eat and if I could, I’d eat it every day.

That’s all for today! Thanks for visiting my blog & feel free to leave a comment!
