A Very Blue Day

So on Friday morning I started my day like most and went to Starbucks on campus. While I was waiting in line, our own Butler celebrity, Blue the bulldog, stopped by to say hello! He was of course hounded by the paparazzi, me included, and was so nice. He definitely makes me want a bulldog.

I even tweeted about the encounter and he tweeted me back! You can follow Blue on twitter here, and you can follow me on Twitter here.

Friday was also good because I got most of my homework done. I planned on going to the basketball game Saturday night against Detroit but I totally forgot! I’m going to make sure I go to the next guys home game that is on a weekend. The good news is that we won. Another team bites the dust!

Super Bowl Sunday

So today is the big day! It’s Super Bowl Sunday! Since I’m from the Chicago area, I’m closer to the Packers so I’ll root for them. I’m also a little more excited for the seventh annual Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. It’s basically three hours of puppies running around and playing with toys. It might just be the best thing ever. Glee comes on tonight as well so I’m just going to be busy as ever.

We’re currently reading the book “March” in my Civil War FYS class. I’m half way done and we have to have it done by Wednesday so I’m in good standing. Maybe I’ll even finish it tonight (doubtful)!

My First Basketball Game

On Thursday I went to my first basketball game at Hinkle Fieldhouse on campus. It was a girl’s game and they played Green Bay. The game started off rough with the Bulldogs being down by as much as 15 points! But the girls eventually came back and closed the gap to only 4 points! It was exciting to say the least.

The final seconds had everyone on the edge of their seats but the game didn’t turn out in our favor. But nevertheless it was an entertaining game and they really put a lot of effort into it to close the gap!

I had a lot of homework this weekend but I spent my Saturday doing it and I got almost all of it done. Now I can just relax and get prepared for my classes tomorrow. I’m currently reading the book “March” for my Civil War FYS class. It’s actually really good which is a shock to me because usually I don’t enjoy school books. But I’m looking forward to the books we’re reading this semester, all except for “Gone With The Wind” of course. ;) It’s a thousand pages so I’ll be preparing myself for it mentally and physically later in the semester!

That’s all for today and feel free to leave a comment! You can follow me on Twitter here.

My first time at a game at Hinkle Fieldhouse! Go Bulldogs!

Early Finals Week!

Since teachers don’t HAVE to give finals on Finals Week, most of my finals are this week which is good and bad. The bad is that they’re all crammed on Thursday. The good is that I only have one final on finals week and I get to go home for break early. In this case, I think the good outweighs the bad!

So yesterday the Butler basketball team put up a great fight against Duke but ended up with a loss. Although disappointed, they put up their best effort and that’s all anyone could ask!

I finished most of my homework and studied for some of my exams so today I’m just going to relax. I just got back from Church so I’m going to be mostly napping. On Thursday, I have three finals in a row (Writing, Spanish, & FYS). Hopefully I do well on them all!

That’s all for today! Thanks for visiting my blog! Feel free to leave a comment!

I also recently got a Twitter. You can view it here.

Fall Break!

I had a great time on fall break! I’ll go through the days saying what I did on each:

Wednesday: On Wednesday after my last class I drove my friend from high school who also goes to Butler home. As soon as I got home I got Chipotle and took a long nap! Then one of my other friends, Angela, found out I was in the area and I visited her house where I helped her with Physics homework (not my favorite thing to do but it was great to catch up!).

Thursday: I did not really have a productive Thursday. The only thing I did was getting a much needed haircut!

Friday: Friday was definitely my most productive day! I finished my laundry at home which is good because I dislike doing it in the crowded laundry room at school Saturday evenings! My advice is to do it on Friday nights or on weekday nights on a day when you do not have much homework in order to avoid a lot of people. After this I had lunch at Panera Bread with one of my best friends, Colleen. Then I spent the rest of my day at Loyola University in Chicago where many of my friends attend school. It was plenty of fun and I had my first ride on the CTA train. After this experience, I think I’ll just stick to driving my car. Also at Loyola, they had Midnight Madness which was a pep rally in support of their basketball team. I made sure to constantly remind my friends and everyone else around how much better Butler’s team is!

Saturday: Today I finished my Spanish homework. It was surprisingly the only thing I had to do! I plan on going to lunch with my friend Jessica and going to a haunted house later!

Fall Break this year actually did not go by too fast which was a pleasant surprise! Next week is homecoming, which should be fun!
