For my Political Science class, we were given the opportunity to see a play downtown tonight. The play was called “The Syringa Tree” and was a one woman play. The woman who put on the performance is friends with our professor.
The play was 90 minutes long, which is impressive considering there was no intermission so bravo to her for not needing a break and for being able to remember her lines! I remember when I did plays in elementary school and complained about having to learn 30 lines!
The play was through the eyes of a girl living in South Africa during apartheid. This is interesting since this is exactly the topic we are discussing in class so it is interesting to see it tangibly before your eyes.
I really enjoyed the play and hope to go to more in the future!
