Waiting For Thanksgiving…!!!

Thanksgiving Break is in TWO weeks and I’m excited! Although I absolutely love being in class every day, I need a week off.

My dorm is offering free Harry Potter midnight tickets and is even providing transportation! I’m not a big fan, I’ve only read/seen the first book and movie, but it is still going to be fun. A lot of my friends in Chemistry are going so it should be fun going with them and getting up early the next morning for Chem lecture.

Since I haven’t seen the rest of the movies, over Thanksgiving break I plan on having a marathon of them to really get into the Potter spirit. I might even read the books……. Probably not! I do in fact like reading and I am thinking about purchasing President Bush’s new book which came out today. Although I don’t agree with his policies, I think it would be interesting to get his perspective on things. I try to keep an open mind when it comes to politics.

That’s all for today! Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions about student life at Butler or other inquiries!

Good Time At Home!

I went home this weekend, mostly to get a haircut, but I had a great time! I’ll go through my weekend.

Friday: After my last class I got all my stuff together to go home. As soon as I went home I immediately drove to Chipotle and got a burrito bowl. :)

Saturday: In the morning I went to get my hair cut. Then I went to Hooters with my friend Colleen. I had been craving it all week and FINALLY got some. That night I went to my friend Amanda’s house who also went home this weekend. She attends the University of Indianapolis.

Sunday: After Church, I got to eat eat my first home cooked meal in weeks! Then I took the two and a half hour drive back to Indy and I was glad to get back!

The “Random Photo of the Day” today is a picture of my group in Ambassadors of Change (AOC), which I participated in at Butler. We got to move into our dorms a week early and my specific group was government oriented so we got to take a tour of the state capitol building. It was a great way to meet other freshmen and participate in a program that let me explore my interests more. I recommend it for all in-coming freshmen. Going Home This Weekend!

This weekend I’m going home to visit my family and friends! I plan on visiting my friend Grace’s house! The only bad part of this is that Grace has a dog named Trixie who is secretly evil! She gives me secret glares when Grace isn’t looking (HAHA).

On a side note, hopefully I can find someone to go with me to Hooters because I’ve been craving some this whole week!

I finished all the papers I have to write for this week early so now I can relax. My Writing for Print Media class was canceled today because we have to have individual conferences with our professor about our work. It’s not as intense as it sounds and I think mine went pretty well. :)

Today I purchased the “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.” album by Gwen Stefani. It’s really old but the songs were stuck in my head ALL day!

Also, there’s a basketball game against Hanover tonight and I think I might attend! It’ll be my first basketball game of the year!

That’s all for today!! Go Bulldogs!

The Chicago Marathon and Ireland

This week I have to write three papers. Instead of procrastinating, I actually finished two of them already! I had to write one paper for Chemistry about how I would help the environment if I were elected to be President. It had to be 4-5 pages and actually didn’t take that long to write because I’ve always wanted to be President so I just wrote out what I’ve always wanted to do! :)

I then wrote a “Personality Profile” for my Writing for Print Media class. I chose to write about my friend Jill who recently ran the Chicago Marathon. I just visited her this past weekend at IU so I got to interview her then and it went well! The last paper, which I will write tonight or tomorrow, is for my First Year Seminar class. I think I am going to write about how “The Troubles” in Ireland affected children. I have to defend my case using two of the texts we have read in class.

This weekend I am going home because I have to get a haircut. I can’t wait to see my friends and family! Last time I went home I had so much fun!

That’s all for today! The elections are tomorrow and I’m sad because I’m still 17 so I’m not old enough to vote yet. :( But at least I can vote in the Presidential election in two years! :)
