Happy Halloween!

So I spent my Halloween weekend at IU in Bloomington! I visited my friends and it was so much fun! I dressed as a SUPER fan. I wore a cape, a foam finger, and an IU shirt. But, I still love my Butler Bulldogs!

IU was a fun experience because there are so many people. It was fun maneuvering through the crowds of people to get to different places. My favorite part was when me and my friend Jill were walking down the street and a random person threw marshmallows at us! It doesn’t sound fun or that exciting but trust me, it was the funniest thing ever.

Since my weekend was all play and no work, after mass today, I have to write three papers today for this week! It was worth it though!

That’s my weekend in a nutshell! Thanks for visiting my blog!

This is us in our costumes! Jill was Pocahontas, I was a "Super" Fan, and Cassi was a Greek Goddess.

Another Fun Weekend!

This weekend I’m going to Indiana University! It should be fun since it’s Halloween weekend. I’m staying with my friend Jill. I don’t have much of a costume since I went to the first store that had anything that looked like a costume. The store ended up being CVS!

Since it didn’t have a wide variety all I got was a cape so hopefully I can make some sort of costume out of the rest of the clothes in my closet. Tonight before I leave, I might go to IUPUI to visit some of my friends that attend school there.

That’s all for today! Thanks for visiting my blog!

Getting Into The Halloween Spirit!

Starting tomorrow, Lambda Chi will be hosting a haunted house in their frat house! I’ve only been to one other haunted house in my life and it was extremely scary so hopefully I won’t get too freaked out!

I just got back from an SGA meeting! SGA is like Butler’s student council. Each on campus organization sends a representative to SGA which allows students to have a voice in what decisions are made on campus.

Last night’s Islam seminar was very informative! It really opened my eyes and allowed me to understand the beliefs of Muslims. I definitely will be attending more seminars at Clowes Hall!

Another Day…. With Tornadoes!

This morning I was woken up by my RA who informed me that everyone in the building had to head to the basement because of a tornado watch! It was scary at first but I had never been under a tornado watch before so it was exciting nonetheless!

I had purchased the Taylor Swift CD the night before so this gave me the chance to listen to it! It was an ok album. I think Taylor Swift is still her best album to date. I’m more of a hardcore Lady Gaga fan so I’m more partial to mainstream pop music even though I love country as well.

After the tornado warning expired I was happy to hear that my Chemistry class was canceled! I still had to go to three other classes but it still made my day (Even though I love Chemistry!).

Tonight I’m going to a seminar at Clowes Hall about the future of Islam in America. I feel as though it will be a very informative talk and hopefully I can learn something about Islam from it!

That’s all for today! The random song of the day today is my favorite song from Taylor Swift’s new album

The Homecoming Conclusion!

I thoroughly enjoyed my first ever Butler Homecoming! It was great seeing the alumni and current students get together and support our bulldogs! On Hampton Drive, there was a chariot race! I planned on attending but I slept through my alarm :(. I heard it was a great time and it is fun to see the fraternities get together and support their brothers.

Then there was the football game. Butler made a series of comebacks and it was, hands down, the most exciting game I’ve ever been to. Butler was in the lead but lost in the final minute. The bulldogs put up a great fight and I couldn’t ask for anything more! The final score was 21-20.

That’s all for today!

A Day Downtown!

Recently, me and my friend Diana went to downtown Indy! She goes to IUPUI which isn’t far away and she was one of my friends from high school.  First we went to Qdoba which was great because I never had it before. Although it was good, I STILL like Chipotle more :).

Then later on we ate dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and walked around downtown. We went into Borders and I got a new book! It’s by President Kennedy and is called “Profiles in Courage.” I don’t know why I purchased a new book because I have about eight others I haven’t started yet! But, I love reading so HOPEFULLY I can start on them soon.

That’s all for today!

Homecoming Activities!

There are so many things to do this week during Homecoming! Tonight there is Midnight Snack which I hear is A LOT of fun! There will be lots of food ranging from McDonalds to Ripple Bagel & Deli! I love Ripple Bagel and Deli! Whenever my friends come to visit me from out of town I always take them there. If you plan to visit make sure you get one of their delicious cookies!

On Saturday morning, there is going to be a chariot race down Hampton Drive! SOme of the fraternities are going to be competing against each other. I plan to attend because it seems like it will be a fun time! It starts at 9 AM so I guess I’ll have to get up early (Except for Chemistry Lab, I don’t even have classes that start that early!).

In more important news, the Yankees are struggling in the playoffs :(

I know they’ll come back and won’t disappoint! :)

That’s all for today!

Back to Homework :( But Homecoming Nonetheless

There are events and activities each day this week! Today there are supposed to be Italian Gondola Rides to the Indianapolis Canal and there is supposed to be the International Adventure which is supposed to have bull rides, sumo wrestling, and TONS of other fun activities!

Also, this week, despite it being Homecoming, my teachers decided to load on the homework! I have to read a WHOLE BOOK called Ourselves Alone by Anne Devlin for Thursday and write a paper on it. I also have to write an article for my Writing for Print Media class over this speech. Thankfully I’ve already seen the speech but it was my Junior year in high school so I still have to refresh what I know! I have a Chemistry test coming up this week and lastly I have to read a handout for math! Thankfully my Spanish test for this week was postponed!

Fall Break!

I had a great time on fall break! I’ll go through the days saying what I did on each:

Wednesday: On Wednesday after my last class I drove my friend from high school who also goes to Butler home. As soon as I got home I got Chipotle and took a long nap! Then one of my other friends, Angela, found out I was in the area and I visited her house where I helped her with Physics homework (not my favorite thing to do but it was great to catch up!).

Thursday: I did not really have a productive Thursday. The only thing I did was getting a much needed haircut!

Friday: Friday was definitely my most productive day! I finished my laundry at home which is good because I dislike doing it in the crowded laundry room at school Saturday evenings! My advice is to do it on Friday nights or on weekday nights on a day when you do not have much homework in order to avoid a lot of people. After this I had lunch at Panera Bread with one of my best friends, Colleen. Then I spent the rest of my day at Loyola University in Chicago where many of my friends attend school. It was plenty of fun and I had my first ride on the CTA train. After this experience, I think I’ll just stick to driving my car. Also at Loyola, they had Midnight Madness which was a pep rally in support of their basketball team. I made sure to constantly remind my friends and everyone else around how much better Butler’s team is!

Saturday: Today I finished my Spanish homework. It was surprisingly the only thing I had to do! I plan on going to lunch with my friend Jessica and going to a haunted house later!

Fall Break this year actually did not go by too fast which was a pleasant surprise! Next week is homecoming, which should be fun!

Fall Retreat!

Fall retreat was a WONDERFUL way to relax this weekend! I’ll go through all of the events and things which happened during the weekend! It was sponsored by Cru and featured students from various different universities such as IU, Purdue, Wabash, Valparaiso, and of course Butler! Because of this, I got to meet and become friends with many people from different colleges and had a great time!

Friday: I drove two other people down to Seymour, Indiana to SpringHill Camps. We got there and then had to register and were allowed to sign up for different activities such as zip-lining or wall climbing. Then we were assigned cabins and were bused to our camps, since the camp was extremely large! That night we all got together and listened to a guest speaker and got into our discussion groups to discuss our thoughts about not only religion but also about our views on various world issues. To end the night, everyone was invited to play a mass game of Capture the Flag!

Saturday: Since I slept through most of it, I only have a partial story about today. I was awake from 5:30 AM on Friday to 1:00 AM on Saturday so I was EXHAUSTED! I slept through breakfast and lunch and woke up just in time to get into group discussion and partake in the day’s activities. The majority of the people played in the lake but some decided to stay inside (like me) where it was cool. I mostly played ping pong and foosball with my friends Kevin and Brian.

Sunday: This day was my least eventful day at retreat because I had to leave early. I ate breakfast, which consisted of just a plain bowl of cereal, and left retreat 2 hours early because I had to arrive at Butler by 11 to meet my friend Hayley who was coming in form out of town. Hayley goes to Loyola in Chicago and wanted to see my campus. I took her around Butler and then we decided to eat at Bagel Ripple Deli which is not too far off of campus! We then went to visit our two friends at IUPUI to end the night and we ate at Noodles & Company for dinner! It was my first time eating there and it was delicious!

That was my weekend in a nutshell! Sorry for it being so long! I’ll also be doing a random song of the day to change things up!
