Residence Life
When you study at a residential university, it means your classmates are right down the hall. Your professors are just a few buildings away, the library is within walking distance, and late-night snacks are available in the dining hall to help you make it through your all-nighters.
At Butler, we have on-campus housing for all of our first-year students. All first-year students not living at home with a parent or legal guardian are required to live in one of the University residence halls. All sophomore and junior students (including those affiliated with a Greek organization) not living at home with a parent or legal guardian will be required to live in University housing or an approved Greek Housing unit of which he or she is a member. Here are a few of your options:
Schwitzer Hall
Gender: Female

Amenities: Schwitzer Hall has a kitchenette on
every floor, two full kitchens, two laundry rooms, wireless

Ross Hall

Occupants: Freshmen and sophomores
Visitation: 10 a.m.-2 a.m. weekdays, 24-hour
weekends

Room Style: Standard
Amenities: Ross Hall has a study lounge, wireless
internet, a T.V. and game room, laundry facilities, a 24-hour
computer lab, and a kitchen.
Residential College (ResCo)
Gender: Co-ed
Occupants: Predominantly sophomores
Visitation: 24-hour
Capacity: 470
Floors: 3
Room Style: Suites (Two double rooms are
connected by a bathroom.)
Amenities: ResCo has kitchenettes and lounges, a
laundry facility, a game room, wireless internet, a T.V. room, and
a 24-hour computer lab.
Apartment Village
Gender: Co-ed
Occupants: Juniors and seniors
Visitation: 24-hour
Capacity: 500
Floors: 3
Room Style: Each apartment has four single
bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living area and a kitchen.
Amenities: The Apartment Village features a
community center called The Dawg House. It has a laundry facility,
convenience store, computer lab, quiet study room, and a game room.
The entire Apartment Village has wireless internet.
University Terrace
Gender: Co-ed
Occupants: Sophomores and juniors
Visitation: 24-hour
Capacity: 94
Floors: 4
Room Style: This residence hall offers three
different floorplans, each with a kitchen and a bathroom(s).
Amenities: University Terrace comes equipped with
a laundry facility, wireless internet, and a 24-hour computer lab.
