Division I Athletics

All but one of Butler's 19 intercollegiate teams compete in the Atlantic 10, along with University of Dayton, Xavier University, Duquesne University, University of North Carolina, Fordham University, George Washington University, University of Massachusetts, Temple University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Rhode Island College, University of Richmond, St. Bonaventure University, Saint Joseph's University, La Salle University, and Saint Louis University. Division I Basketball The football team is a member of the Pioneer Football League, which includes Dayton, Drake, San Diego and Valparaiso.

Division I VollyballIn the past decade, Butler teams have captured 26 conference championships. The Bulldogs have made appearances in NCAA National Championship Tournaments in men's and women's basketball, men's soccer, volleyball, men's cross country, lacrosse, and baseball. Butler won the James J. McCafferty trophy, awarded annually by the conference for all-sports excellence based on conference championship points, eight times, including three-straight from 1996-99 and back-to-back years in 2001-03 and 2009-11. 

Division I athletics also provide incredible opportunities for our students and alumni, whether they're cheering from the sidelines, the stands or their homes.
