Life on Campus
When it comes to supporting a vibrant campus
community, Butler is a place that put its money where its mouth is
- for instance, a $1 million budget for the student government
association, which is entirely student-driven.
Students have a hard time keeping quiet about how they feel about Butler. "Butler is home" is something we hear them say a lot - both because of the welcoming residential campus atmosphere, but also the community. It's not a buzzword at Butler University. "Community" really is the best way to describe the attitude among students, faculty, staff and Indianapolis neighbors - because even though we have a variety of people and backgrounds here, we generally have core goals and values in common.
A first-year student said, "Everyone at Butler is proud to be part of something bigger than themselves." We think it's true, and part of what makes the Butler campus unique - the school spirit, the traditions, the genuine care for fellow classmates and neighbors.
