Life on Campus
When it comes to supporting a vibrant campus
community, Butler is a place that put its money where its mouth is.
For instance, Butler has a $1 million budget for the student
government association, which is entirely student-driven.
Students have a hard time keeping quiet about how they feel about Butler. "Butler is home" is something we hear them say a lot. Both because of the welcoming residential campus atmosphere, but also the community. It's not a buzzword at Butler University. "Community" really is the best way to describe the attitude among students, faculty, staff, and Indianapolis neighbors because even though we have a variety of people and backgrounds here, we generally have core goals and values in common.
A first-year student said, "Everyone at Butler is proud to be part of something bigger than themselves." We think it's true, and part of what makes the Butler campus unique is the school spirit, the traditions, and the genuine care for fellow classmates and neighbors.
