Admission Program Applications Postmarked By
Early Action November 1st
Regular Decision February 1st

Early Action

If Butler is one of your top choices for college, congratulations! You should apply for Early Action. Then after you're admitted, you can relax while your friends continue to complete college applications.

November 1 Postmark deadline for application and all required materials

Admission decisions mailed by December 15

January 31 (or earlier) Submit your Enrollment Form and refundable $300 admission/housing deposit

March - April Early Registration (you will be notified by the Office of Admission of your specific date for Early Registration beginning in March)

March 1 (or earlier) Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for financial aid consideration. Butler University FAFSA code: 001788

March 15 Notification of financial aid for prospective freshmen begins

Early Action Benefits

Other benefits (besides peace of mind) include:

Full Scholarship Consideration Scholarships are offered to students who demonstrate a strong record of academic excellence in high school or display promise in the performing arts or athletics. Priority is given to students who apply by the Early Action deadline of November 1.

Early Registration Special registration days in March and April allow admitted students priority selection of courses and instructors. Classes fill on a first-come basis, so the earlier you apply and enroll, the more likely you are to get the classes you want at the times you want.

Freshman Living-Learning Centers These unique living-learning centers provide freshmen special program opportunities for academics and extracurricular activities. They are reserved for Early Action applicants and even then space is limited.

Honors Program Eligible candidates will receive an invitation to the Honors Program after being admitted to Butler.

Housing List your residence hall, floor and roommate preference on your housing contract, which you'll receive in the mail once your enrollment deposit has been received. Requests are filled on a first-come basis.
