Often studied but rarely performed, the massive requiem mass setting by Hector Berlioz inspires awe and admiration from those who have the chance to hear it live. With four offstage brass bands and timpani sets, the musical imagery of the days of final judgment is vivid and compelling. The Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, the Butler Chorale and University Choir, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra perform this sacred masterwork. Professor of Music Dr. Eric Stark conducts.
