Obama Deserves a 'B,' Professor Jett Says

President Obama deserves a “B” for his work in office so far, the chair of Butler University’s Department of Political Science said.
In looking back at the year since Obama was elected, Professor Terri Jett said she based her grade partly on “the context in which he had to fill the presidency.”
“It was very difficult with so many challenges that he had to work on,” she said, citing the recession, healthcare and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“He’s done a good job in terms of raising the discourse, allowing us to participate with other countries in making decisions on how we’re going to resolve these issues with global implications,” Jett said.
As for healthcare, she praised the speech Obama gave in front of Congress in September “because it allowed the country to see more clearly where he stands with regard to the particular areas of reform that he addressed – the cost, the access, the decision-making process – and where he stands on the public option.”
